Fun times.

Enjoyed driving over frizby only to launch myself over the bridge in an apparent suicide (however, no note was found at the scene.)

Also enjoyed driving over digiwok to have him say "Good job. Now I'm going to find you and kill you."

Man here I am talking shit and I didnt even play tonight! I had to make a return to Target, today was the last day. The good part is I found Prince of Persia PS3 for $10!

But its all good. I said before dont wait for me guys, game on! I will get the packs, but Chew Im so cheap I will wait for the buy 2 get 1 thing again. It was that once so it should again. And I forgot to say before Friz, that sure you guys are good peeps, but when I play HOTD, thats with others in person in the room, and live like that is always a blast for me Though I probably would get more play out of Warhawk; it comes done to "whats the cheapest its been, and I will not pay above the cheapest Ive seen." HOTD has been seen for $13, I wont pay more than that now (even though Amazon had it for $20, thats too much).

I know you guys hate me for being like this but I grew up stretching ever damn dollar as a kid; I cant shake it.

That was absolutely epic.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I largely agree with Chew. It was a bummer to see that some of the strategies that I consider dirty were employed with regularity for a bit there. I'm specifically thinking of damaging or taking the other team's vehicles and swarming their spawn points. If a person spawns multiple times with no functional vehicles, no time to arm up and surrounded by two tanks, a warhawk and their own missile turret...odds are they aren't having any fun.

It's especially upsetting because I am almost always going out of my way to maintain some sense of fairness, and it's disappointing when others don't follow suit. In the map Chew is describing, I actually came very close to booting a few people. Then when the teams were the same on the next map, I asked first thing for that to not happen again...but damned if it didn't anyway. The blue team was ahead by 4000 points, had every zone on the map and was launching TOW missiles at the red spawn point.

All things being equal, I'd much rather boot folks who behave like that rather than lose the folks who don't. This game is a *friendly* one, and you all share some responsibility in that. No more piling on, please. [/rant]

That said, we had a great turnout last night, and it was awesome to see Cloud in the mix. I just hope we didn't chase him off permanently.

And really, those two maps were the only "bad" ones. I liked the Eucadia collection map, even though it took me forever to figure out where the cores were. I took digi for a long pointless drive in a jeep with him asking "where are you going?" I honestly had no idea.

Based on my Friends list and when they popped online, I have to wonder how many people had to wait for somebody to drop off last night? We were at the max for quite a while. I think digi was online a bit earlier than when he got to play.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I'm fully OK with maxing out, but point taken. Digi is one of the guys that I enjoy playing with. He's scary good in that tank, but he never piles on or plays dirty that I've noticed. Flip, TLwiz, and Z have gotten pretty decent too and are always a pleasure to play with.

The only person who sent me a "can't get on" message last night was tormentor.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I had another "jeep" moment last night. I really thought I was over these.

I tried to run someone over, missed and then lodged the jeep into some kind of doorway. The offshoot of lodging the jeep into a door was that for some reason I couldn't exit the jeep. I could switch between driver, passenger and gunner, but I couldn't jump out. It should be noted that I didn't honk the horn, but I did get to wait patiently for someone to knife me. This, I think, was more dignified.

I wasn't able to get on for a good while last night and went to play on another server. Thought I held up okay, but playing with 32 people as opposed to 8 really requires some different strategizing.

The only time I wanted to break anything was on that crazy enormous death match map. And I was working on Warhawking... but going 2-on-1 against chess and Whistler. When did Steve become such a Warhawk menace. It didn't help that I couldn't dodge a beach ball last night, but *%#*$(&# nobody would frippin die and as soon as I got in the air one of them was on my ass. I spent the entire time boosting to grab health, circling to find a real weapon, finally getting something useful, dodging, dodging, dying.

Oh and f#ck the K's & N's. Next time I'm going mercenary. I had to release some steam by running some bitches with the tank. But other than that, I'm glad I'm generally pleasant!

Did you just rank up?

There were 8 on at the time anyway. I would have written you back, but my team was in DEEP trouble even with my meager skills.

32 player free for alls are crazy. I want no part of that business.

Really sorry you couldn't get on sooner. We had a couple of semi-regulars like whistlersteve and an old school regular (cloudvader) in the game, so it filled up fast. I know eroc and cloud can't make it next week, so you shouldn't have a problem at all.

Actually there's a good chance I won't make it the next two weeks as I start heading back to NYC from LA. But I'm hoping I'll still be able to swing it.

Not recently. I ranked up about a 5-6 weeks ago and I'm still around 15K points short of my next one.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

funny, I actually thought last night was the most fun of the past few times becuase it was 4x4 and the teams were matched pretty well, of course I came on right when frizby was sounding very frustrated so I think I came on after all that.

I did try to get on around 8 and it was full. Wasnt able to get on until about 8:40. I suppose I am still not clear what the problem would be having flip host with 12 people and still just use the same maps(well, not the 2 gigantic ones we played with just 4 people ). That way we at least aren't leaving anyone out and adding 4 more people on any of the maps we play really would not be a problem and would probably make it even more fun...especially on most of the CTF maps.

Yep, you came on when it was not only still lopsided, but somebody had given up, so it was 4 on 3. That's why I was so happy to see you show up on my team...finally felt like I had a fighting chance.

I have absolutely no problem with flip hosting 12 if he can. I think I've even given instructions for settings somewhere in the thread. Can you actually host 12 Flip?

I haven't changed the rank limiter since we started. It's Sergeant Major (my rank) and always has been. I'll never rank up because I don't want to play in ranked games.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

It was nice to TOW on chess on the first game, even though we were practicing hehe.
I got off around 8:30 for a while to talk to my gf about when I was meeting her and then tried getting into the game again but it kept telling me that the game was full.

I had fun yesterday. On the team deathmatch we were playing at one time the score was about even so I just went at it. Didn't realize we (blue team?) were frustating the red team until chess said so. I held back a bit from then on. I must say that on Zones we overdid it.

I will also get the expansions packs but as Ravenous said I am waiting for a cheaper price on the DLC. I just hope I don't have to wait a year or two for it to go cheaper.

I'll do some tests this week. My PS3 is hard-wired into Verizon's highest speed FIOS line so I don't forsee any problems...

I have Roadrunner and didn't notice a speed difference between hard wired and Wi-Fi (tried both). My connection is plenty fast.

Please test before assuming. Just go to "community" and "create game" and you'll see immediately what your upload/download speeds are, and the game will automatically limit your min/max players based on those speeds. AFAIK, everybody who's actually tested has been limited to 8.

How do they calculate the limitations?
