Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
This was fun tonight, probably one of the more fun nights for me. I can keep up a lot better when it's a one-on-one or a two-on-two match. The only issue I had tonight was during the second CTF map when I took the flag Steve had hidden in the cave near our base and took it to the capture zone. Afterward he died, respawned, and started whipping grenades and knifed me so I'm not sure if it was bad Warhawk etiquette of me to take the flag or what, but I apologize.

I had a ton of fun tonight fellas...best night I can remember in a while. We really had a nice mix of teams toward the end there.
Something ridiculously funny happened on the snow map, and I just can't remember what it was...couldn't stop laughing though.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I remembered what it was though!
R2 was driving a jeep up the ramp from our base, and I worked it over pretty good, forcing him to get out...then I worked him over a bit on foot and thought "I really don't want to get out and save that flag". So I gave him just the slightest little nudge toward the cliff. On my screen, at least, he must've flown 100 feet out and down into the abyss, which prompted a "BASTAAAAARD!" and immediately returned the flag to our base. It was so epic!

That was pretty funny. My thought process basically went "Why's nic just standing there? Wait, am I red or blue...oh shit, I'm dead!"

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
At first I was rotating around the building with nic, but I eventually just stopped and waited for him to come back around since he was just running in a circle. I finally killed him and hopped out of my Warhawk to save the flag.
R2 rolled up in a tank and blew up my Warhawk, and I ran to the backside of the same building hoping he'd pull up close since I had a wrench. He hopped out to grab the flag, and the second he did, I wrenched him, fixed his tank, jumped in and said "thanks for the tank..."
Meanwhile nic had respawned and was running up from the side of the building I'd just left (which is where the tank turret happened to already be pointing since it blew up my Warhawk) and I blasted him, competing the sentence with "...I know nic appreciated it".
Too funny!
Then I jumped out and saved the flag...laughing my ass off.

How can I tell if a USB microphone has the push to talk feature? I've been looking on Amazon and none of them seem to have any buttons. I need one with push to talk, because I have the console in the living area (for blu ray viewing purposes), and 9 times out of 10 there's someone in the other room watching a different television set. It wouldn't be a problem if everybody here wouldn't mind hearing the faint, but oh so soothing, voices of Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow while we play.
Edit: Also, how many of you are Call of Duty junkies? I picked up this latest one and haven't hardly been able to put it down since (except for on Warhawk night, of course). Last night me and Digi ran through some Spec Ops and team death matches and it was fun stuff despite my lack of skill, 'wondering who else has it.

I got a wireless plantronics USB mic and it seems to work pretty well. It mutes when you push the mic boom up, however I would not call that push to talk as it is not quick to do that operation.
I had alot of fun playing those spec ops missions last night however it was hard for me to tell if you were or not without having mics on both ends. The bridge operation was a lot of fun and I was liking the one in the shanty town as well, but I left it because I wasn't sure if you were still liking it or not. The snow sniper one is impossible without mics though as you really have to time it between the two of us to make sure we both take out people at the same time. I am definitely up for more of that if you(or anyone else) is. I tend to like the coop stuff better then the random multiplayer stuff as I generally end up being confused and frustrated as I just get killed left and right. At least when you play against the computer it gives you some level of auto aim.
I am generally on after 11pm CST so feel free to message me or whatever and we can continue our embarassing attempts at beating those.
Also, sorry I missed warhawk last night, although it sounds like you guys ended up having a good match and enough people. Vacation schedule threw me off so I wasnt able to make it last night.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
As much fun as last night was, I think there are certain aspects I miss when there aren't as many pros on the field. The games seemed pretty lopsided for the most part. With Chess and Sean vs Me and Steve, Steve and I pretty much ran the field because Chess was left to fend for himself. Then, when it was the three noobs (me, Sean and Cardiff) vs Chess and Steve, we got destroyed both rounds. It's hard to balance the games no matter what, but at least when there is a lot of high ranked players, and middle skilled players, and beginners like myself, it seems more like a war and more like a fun party, even if I am getting slaughtered.
And Digi, I'll definitely take you up on some more Spec Ops soon. I'm going to try and practice a bit tonight on single player so I can get used to the timing. I was rushing, and that definitely doesn't work as well on co-op versus the CPU as it does in multi-player. I'm looking into a cheap microphone, so hopefully we'll get to tackle that snow mission again.

Steve and I did win the three games we were paired up, but they were hardly blowouts.
I did kind of miss Flip and Digi pestering me in the air though.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
It wasn't a blow out until Nic showed up and was on your team too, haha. Just the luck of the draw, I think. It leveled out pretty good once R2 popped in.
