Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I vote for Badlands - South City for the lobby. That one's always a good time.

We might have too many people for knives and nades, but that's always a good time too...maybe on Badlands - Fortress

Your call flip!

"Nice driving dickhead."

Fun times tonight fellas. A few things I learned:

Don't take it easy of Ofermod, even if he hasn't played in a while.
Digiwok is just as good as me in the air.
Chew is dangerous with a knife.

I was just shutting down when I saw you come online. We're generally wrapping up by 8 your time, so it's tough.

Hopefully one of these weeks...

I knew you couldn't fire into a shield bubble (obviously), but it wasn't until last night that I found out you can't fire out either.

I'm surprised that 2 on 2 at the end actually ended up pretty close. Especially with my non-Warhawk usage.

Eh, I didn't care for that map as the lobby. I like the smaller, no vehicle ones much better. Although, everybody stuck around the spawn area for most of it.

Frizby teamkills Chew
Frizby teamkills Flip
Frizby kills Digi (or was that Steve?)
Frizby suicide

That was a fun map, and Steve and I were much more cohesive than we normally are.

Yep...just a bit too big...though having a ton of people in the lobby helped make it feel decent.

Frizby suicide

Leave it to me to kill everybody on the whole map, including my teammates and myself!

I just saw Digi run past a window and decided to fly a TOW in there, and the second I let it go, I saw you and Flip giving chase! I panicked and tried to fly it into the ground and instead hit the edge of the steps, which was JUST close enough to catch me in the 'splosion...and still kill both my teammates as well. Then we all spawned together..."What's up fellas?"

i tried to come back after the 1st period, but it wouldn't let me in, I reset a few times and it still wouldn't let me, it said join failed...then I tried to enter in a few other games and it wouldn;t let me enter anything...I figured that was a sign...

Lots of fun though, I saw more of everyone's balls last night than I cared to that is for sure..haha...one time i got balled from behind and thoguht, "I'll throw it in reverse and outsmart them," but i was on a hill and the balls were rolling with me...

That's really odd. I thought maybe flip hosting but not playing might have something to do with it, but who knows.

I did that...the balls are my new favorite weapon. They are less lethal than the TOW, and much harder to use accurately, but I just love saying "balls" when I drop them. It always makes me smile.

Balls.

Dammit...that is too funny!

And I'm still chuckling every time I think about "Nice driving dickhead". People are walking by my office looking at me like I'm crazy.

Better in general, I would say. You're a sneaky one...good for finding high ground to exploit for lots of kills.

As long as you do that in the context of protecting the flag carrier or killing the opposing flag carrier, it's pretty effective, but it can sometimes take you out of the action. Just focus on how your actions effect the flags and not so much on kills, and you'll be super effective.

Flying is pretty much the same way...unless you have total air superiority, it's hard to be effective in CTF. Flip has figured that out, and will fly...sometimes I think just to keep me occupied, which is good strategy on his part.

Good times last night, especially with Ofermod back and we actually had 9 for a while...but man did the room empty out quick for the ef'ing pens of all things. Hopefully we can build on it for next week.

Yeah, I'm operating under no delusions. I'm target practice. And I think I'm good enough now to be relatively annoying and potentially dangerous if you ignore me. Without that, though, I'm pretty ineffective, long term anyway, against anyone with skill.

I was a little frustrated last night because I was off what little game I have. The suicides were more frequent and I kept switching to the wrong weapons under duress. There are few things more unsatisfying that frantically trying to switch to your balls, missing with your analog stick and pooping a mine only to get blow'd up a second later when you try to double-tap the hell out of there and run right into a tree... or rock... or building...

HEY! Jerk.

I hung on for another game after 10pm and only left because I had to get some work done before going to bed. I was going to wait until today to watch the game, but I couldn't resist and just ended up staying up past 1:30am.

And what a goddamn game that was! Woooooo! Saku Koivu was being really douchey last night? Is he always such a douche?

If it makes you feel any better, we weren't quite sure if you were playing the last 2 or 3 games. Wait, that probably doesn't...

on the CTF with the bridges, Nic Sniped me, I respawned and someone had stolen the flag. we got it back and I grabbed the Sniper rifle and started looking for him, then he killed us all with the binoculars, and I respawned and soemone took the flag...we got it back, and then i saw someone over there going after him, and I grabbed the sniper rifle and waited for him to stop moving and BOOM...headshot...you sneaky bastard...

I was definitely a bit more TOW-happy than usual last night, but just so you know, you're the ONLY one who I don't think twice about TOWing...so your perspective might be a bit different.

I'll bet other folks here have seen me roll up on them, hover, and then just fly off.

Can a get a witness?

True...AND...funny.

Is flip even in the game?
I don't know.

Long pause....

Flip?
Hello?

We were probably 5-10 minutes into the map before we realized.

Didn't you notice the absence of "Flipperbaby suicide" bulletins across the top of the screen?
