Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
On another topic, I swear there has to be some secret to increased health in this game that doesn't involve the healing mist. I knifed a guy with 2 clean shots and a third close one: he didn't die. He knifed me once and I was a sack of potatoes.
A similiar thing happened last week when I had someone in a corner and pumping him full of bullets (again, no healing mist) and it wasn't until two teammates started doing the same that he finally went down.

Curious, is there a perceptable difference between the reach of the knife and the reach of the wrench?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Funniest moment of the night: during the 10 minute dogfight, I'm engaged head-on with somebody, and right as we collide, somebody hits one of us with a missile and takes us both out. We had a collective "what the hell just happened?" and then a good laugh.
Chew, what did you think of the jetpacks? Worth the trouble or too complicated?

All I know is, every time I looked when there was a lot of garbled noise, I saw digawok's name on the screen.
The jetpacks are fun to fly around in, as long as I'm not worrying about my "neck". But, to me, they're just as much of a pain to coordinate flying and fighting at the same time as the warhawks are.
I'd still like to see more of the expansion pack maps though.
And my laugher of the night was at least three consecutive times where eroc and I killed each other with our knifes at the same time on that 3 zone map early in the evening.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Had a great time last night. The jetpacks were a blast, I found it easier to use than Warhawks and would love to see them in more games. Finally getting the hang of capture the flag and king of the hill, but still working on the other events. I couldn't figure out the core event until halfway through and spent the majority of the time running around and trying to open up the containers with the cores (obviously to no avail).

Wish I could have joined in, but by the time I got home you guys were all gone. I played one Warhawk game yesterday just to make it feel like Tuesday but there were a couple douches in Warhawks owning the game (one guy had a kill count in the 50s)... and clearly not of Rookie level. So it really wasn't the same.

chess, what happened to the knife-only map?
And for future maps, may I suggest non-Warhawk players in Warhawks and typical Warhawk players on-foot for a nice change of pace?
I was getting toasted last night because I couldn't find a vehicle to even the odds out a bit.

Once we get that cheap ass Ofermod to buy the expansions (or even just the jetpack one), I'll get jetpacks in more maps.
...need to get you mic'ed up!

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Because I can only load ten maps in the rotation, I have to kill multiple birds with one stone. I didn't want more than 3 Death Match games, and since I was already committed to the jetpacks one and the dogfight one, I had the 9th or 10th map planned for knives and 'nades. Next week, I'll probably make it the lobby and move jetpacks back to later in the night.
That would be fun, and I've been trying to stay on the ground much more. Eroc forced my hand a bit last night early in the badlands, and I had to blow off some steam in Eucadia, but I didn't generally do a lot of flying.
That said, I suspect the flyers (Ofermod, Nxlr8 and myself) are all pretty good at hunting Warhawks from the ground, where the nonflyers would probably struggle a bit in the air (except for ween, who's better than he lets on).

Still, too bad I missed out on the Tuesday fun. I hope I can make it next Tuesday -- at least for a little bit...

At some point ween says "hey, you're 2000 points ahead, how about coming down with the rest of us". I hadn't really been watching the score and felt like a douche.

Yeah, let me know whenever it is a problem. It is impossible from my end to know that my mic is all jacked up unless someone tells me. I would like to get a wired mic, but just havent gotten around to it and the fact that I sit like 20 feet away from the PS3.

I totally suck in the air. I had more suicides then kills. I just get turned around too easily and I find I spend most of my time breaking missile locks which gets old fast.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Well when I chimed in for the first time, you said "Hear you loud and clear"
Than after some people started laughing about me for some reason like I was garbled so I dont know. I do hear Chess and Ween the best. Everyone else was garbled. I have my voice and sensitivity both at around 40%
Chew were you the one shooting me, your own teamate, for a bit till I said to stop, and you said "sorry'?
I think that was the only time I heard someone else. Either way everyone loves killing me, even Friz and he was on my team the whole time too!
I think the base camping was pretty low at a point. With a mere 4 on 4 its needless. I had to start using mines to try and discourage it cause I hate cheesy playing.
You guys rock! Should I just PM my address to you guys?

At this point, I think it's worth it for each of us to send him $1.

Which means, I hope you heard me OK? I usually keep the actual talking to a minimum, with most of it coming early. I tend to get more frustrated when there's 8 on and I'm dying every second. My mic is not set to "open" so nobody has to hear me grumble all the time! So, I probably wasn't talking a whole lot by the time you got on.
And in the "snooze you lose" department: first you missed out on the sale and now you may of missed out on the bundle price. The expansion packs are apparently no longer Buy 2, get 1 free anymore. When I bought the bundle a few weeks ago, it was only a few days later that I noticed that bundle was missing from the Warhawk page.

I had my sensitivity down to 5% and chess said that I was still "on" all the time.

Some bluetooth mics are really sensitive to background noise...curious how high your input is in the PS3 accessories menu. If your Warhawk input is set that low, your master input has to be too high.

I'm not stopping my hosting duties any time soon, so I'd wager everybody gets their money's worth out of the expansions. I'm not that excited about the factory or snow levels to be honest, but I love Tau Crater and the jetpacks.
The most exciting thing for me this week:
We had 3-5 regulars opt out for a variety of reasons, and still had 8 people on most of the night!

Ahhh, Yea chris I heard that wife comment so I wondered if that was addressed about me
My tooth is the one that came with WH. I will turn down my sensitivity lower. I think I raised it when I tried a game with Ween and I couldnt hear him or anyone.
Yea Chew I have the same habit and really have to bite my tounge. Pretty soon Ill just let loose and be calling you guys assholes and stuff, but itll be in a non malicious way. Really
That may be a problem when those regular do come back! Flip may have lost his spot
