I think you are color blind or maybe forgot what color your team was. You guys crushed us. You had spatula driving around our base with a tank and you were base raping us with your warhawk.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

That was the first game I've ever played where I was the top player. Let's not forget that for a while, it was 4-on-1, with me as the 1.

I li:ke the Northern Bridge map quite a bit; there's just so much action and both locations really have their pros and cons. I've played a few games there when it was at least 20+ players and it's insane.

Come to think about it, I dig the smaller maps a lot more than the big stuff like say, the full Eucadia map.

I definitely have a soft spot for that map too, but all other things being equal, the Eucadian side will usually win.

...or whoever steals the other team's vehicles.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Which side is which? I have a vague notion of the "story line" of the game but I really don't know who is what or where is what, either.

As for Spire Shut-In, I have such absolute frustrations with that map over and over. Of course, you all knew that if you heard my... *ahem* emotion when chess / frizby took me out when I had the flag right at the front door and about to score.

Eucadians = Green/Brown in a WWII American motif...blue icons
Chernovians = Gray in a rough industrial motif...red icons

That was an amazingly lucky shot...flew a missile through the window and hit you after you walked in the door. It took some skill, but I couldn't replicate it in 100 tries...at least not in real time.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

So here's a thing. I'm going to Afghanistan the first week of April and will be gone until at least the end of October.

Can anybody be a regular host?

I can host. And if I can't, for whatever reason, I'll blame chew... I mean, get chew to host. Or dogmatica. I've probably sub-hosted the most so why don't we just plan for me to carry the torch until October.

My only concern is that I don't know the rotation of late. friz, if you could post your standard map configurations for the last few months that would be helpful.

Of course.

Bigger concern is that I generally bring at least 3-5 guys out of 10.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

At this point, any given week could be my last for 7 months or so...and I'm bound to be cranky since my world is getting pretty fucked over right now.

I'd love to see you guys carry it on, and I'd especially love to read about your antics every week while deployed, but I'm not optimistic.

Any special requests for tomorrow?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Something tells me I'll be joining you guys later rather than sooner. I've never played K&N, Infected, or Vehicular Manslaughter. If those options are being offered it would be cool to see them after 8:30pm if possible.

My interest in them is in the order listed. That said, would Vehicular Manslaughter give me an opportunity to earn my necessary road kills to earn Bandit 4x4 and rank up to Wing Leader (already have the points) or do I need to do that in an open game instead?

I think the ranking up will only happen in public matches (enjoy).

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I know this idea might backfire entirely... but what would you guys think about running a clan match every other Tuesday or something? It might add some new life by bringing back digi and maybe some other vets. And for those new guys that might be itching to earn some of those online ranks, it might be less frustrating/awful to do so when surrounded by friends.

Yes, yes, blah, blah, we've tried this before... I know. It's just an idea and as a clan I believe we can take on randoms as well. Granted, I'm still unsure how the clan stuff works because we've failed to make it work.

I already know who's going to be in favor of online douchebaggery, but I'm going to need to hear from the rest of you guys. If nothing else, we try it once in lieu of our regular rotation and see how it goes. If it sucks, we never speak of it again.

The next question would be.... has everyone joined the DVDTalk clan? And who has the staff of power right now?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I'm up for trying that, though I'll need to be pointed toward the DVDTalk clan so I can join.

As for my availability, I work the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month until 9:00pm and don't get home until 9:30pm. I'll just throw that out in terms of when I couldn't participate in the clan games though certainly it shouldn't be built around me. Things will change a bit in the summer, too, though I imagine that's the case for most people.

Regarding ranking up, there is a tiny part of me who enjoys being an Airman 1st Class with enough points and awards to jump up several classes, but be held back in ranking up due to my lack of Warhawk expertise. So I'm not great against a Warhawk or in a Warhawk but I'm pretty good on the ground and I set my public game filters to low ranks so I can inflict at least some noob pownage. It's a way of being around as good as my fellow players with a slight edge on the ground (canceled out, I suppose, by their slight edge in the air).

So for example, I don't have Warhawk Recruiting which means I'm not moving on to Sergeant any time soon. That said, I do have Bandit Air-to-Air and so if I ever get Warhawk Recruiting I'm jumping right to Wingman. Something tells me, too, I'll earn Bandit 4x4 before Warhawk Recruiting which means when I finally get Warhawk Recruiting, I'll automatically bump all the way up to Sergeant Major.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

One of the better nights in a while. The game consistently put me and Z on opposite teams, and other than one or two games, the scores were close and the games were fun.

Highlights:

- Holding the cores at the end of the snow collection map as a strategy

- Pushing KTown out of bounds with the cores making them respawn

- Knifing dudes in the lobby and yelling "Dogtags!"

- The jetpack map at the end was awesome...really liked all of the TDMs tonight...all close except for the dogfight, which I think is 5 minutes too long at 15.

- Watching dudes try to climb the mountain in Infected...until Cruz sniped me.

- Nic and I had many funny run-ins tonight, usually ending in mutually assured hilarious death. The best was probably him suicide binocularing me a millisecond before I suicide balled him.

- Nic is on a rock formation in Badlands (I assume binocing people) and Spatula lands behind him and is about to wrench him. I push Spatula off the cliff for a suicide with my Warhawk.

- Easily the funniest moment of the night...I'm carrying the blue flag and am in an epic fight with two dudes on Archipelago. I kill their dude with our flag and am about to take out the other one when Spatula's jeep (he's on my team) flies over the ramp and takes my head off for an epic teamkill. WTF???

Lowlights:

- Running up the score on two maps

- No Chew

- No flip
