I'm not gonna pretend that I knew Chew as well as some of the rest of you, but I always enjoyed his posts on ths board, and since I started gaming with this community on and off since last summer, whether it was Warhawk or any of the rotating games that we had been playing, he was always very helpful and a joy to interact with. My sincere condolences to his friends and family in this time of loss.

Similar to what Cactus said, I won't pretend that I knew Chew very well like some of you here in this board but I enjoyed Chew's posts throughout the years whether in the Video Games, TV or Sports Forums. He was a very passionate Green Bay Packers fan. It was only this past summer, that I actually got to play online with him on our Red Dead Redemption nights. He seemed like a great guy in the few times that we played online together.
My condolences to all of his family and friends.

My prayers for Matt "Chew" Langdon and his family.
I can't believe this either. I always liked playing with him and he was great in a tank or defending the base. I remember when he said "boot him now! boot him now!!!"

Like several other of you, I only played with him once or twice at the start of my COD Thursday experiences. He was a good guy, my condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Wow. Just read Chew's obit and I realize that Chew was really into his family. Even though we only knew each other from our online interactions, Chew will be missed. He was a great part of our online family and like chess said, I feel really honored that he thought of us while in the 'real' world. He was a great guy and could always be counted on to have some funny remarks. He would always make me laugh either through what he would say or do in our game nights. I hope that wherever he is now he knows his family (both real and digital) were really into him.

This was certainly the last thing I expected to see as I went about my daily rounds on the DVDTalk board. I won't pretend to have anything else to say that hasn't already been said. I know I never met Chew in the real world, but I'm devastated. I talked to Chew more than so-called "real-life" friends because he was always there on Tuesdays... and I doubt a week went by that he didn't make me smile... just by being himself. I think we could all tell he was a great guy even though our interactions outside of DVDTalk or that PS3 were probably limited.
For the better part of three months now I've been struggling with depression. The months of January and February I'd kind of hit what I would consider the bottom. I'd lost interest in most everything in my life outside of my family. And no matter the kind of day I'd had... better or worse... I ALWAYS looked forward to Tuesdays. I got to forget and just play a game with friends. I don't know you guys, but you're all my friends because you've all helped me, in your own ways, overcome one of the most difficult times in my life. So knowing that Chew's not going to be there on Tuesday... well, it's just not going to be right.
Anyway, don't know why I felt the need to say that. Maybe because I wish that I could have told Chew too.
I guess I'll say goodbye to Chew on this silly internet thing the only way I know how.
"Hi, Chew."
"Hi, Flip."
I'll really miss you.

That's awesome Flip, and so true. Chew was the good-spirited core of our game...the glue that held it together.
Here's food for thought: Every game you've ever played in our group...every evening of Warhawk, Call of Duty, Burnout, Resistance, Red Faction, Uncharted 2, Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands, and Battlefield, literally hundreds of hours of games with friends, was a direct result of Chew being the first to say "yes" to a simple question: Anybody want to play Warhawk? I just asked a question. He started this.
2 years later, I can picture myself 15 years from now playing Battlefield 5 on the PS5 with you guys. Thank you Matt.

I've never got into the whole social media thing other than a few small forums, and this one, but I'm going to create a Facebook account so I can add people here.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Tomorrow will likely be my last Tuesday for about 7 months as I head off to Afghanistan...and, of course, it's not going to be the same without Chew. I'll check to see if I have the clan lead and will send it to flip if I do.
Meanwhile, any requests?

I'll be around after 9:30pm. If the Knives and Grenades can happen after then so I can try it, cool, but no worries if it appears earlier.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Thanks Z...hopefully flip will still hold down the fort.
I'm going to recommend small maps after I leave. I'm hoping Ktown and Rubadub still come out, but I'm not counting on any of my other guys.

I hope DieCast can still make it; he's a great player.
