Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

UPS just dropped off BFBC2 apparently. I may hop on in a few hours if I have the time prior to Warhawk.

You've got a really big update first - pop it in the second you get home to get it started.

Slider, I'll sign on at about 2:30-3:00ish. I'll get you into my squad and show you a few things in Conquest if you're online. You won't be asking questions but you can shadow me for a bit to learn some of the basics.

Ah, 3:00 is a bit too early for me (obviously now ), Flipper. I won't even be able to get the update started until 4 or 4:30. Thanks for the offer though, I do appreciate it.

No worries. Sometimes I catch you online in the afternoon. There'll be plenty of opportunities. Chess is always up for some BFBC2.

Mine arrived this afternoon. I've asked my wife to have my son install it for me so I can try it when I finally reach home.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I knew that was what you meant. I'm still debating that, even though it's normally the cheaper choice. We've had this discussion before It's easier for me to buy BFBC2 on sale than an already cheap Warhawk because I KNOW I'll definitely get sucked in to some game nights frequently on it. My wife is cool with one night every or every other week. If I try to change that to two... then again, maybe I could alternate and play Warhawk 1 week and Black Ops the next. That might have promise. I'll have to think about it.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Awesome night fellas. Turnout was very light the first hour but we got up to 5 on 6 later.

Things I loved:

- It's official, Vehicular Manslaughter is now flamethrowers instead of pistols. That was hilarious!

- Three way flamethrower dance with Chew, Rubadub and me.

- Cruz sniping my Warhawk a couple of times on Communique. I haven't seen that in so long, I forgot that it was even a possibility.

- Taking turns ramming APCs into each other

- Degenerating into random douchiness and teamkills in Infected. (Jetpacks next week)

- 8 people on the King of the Hill tower...and Flip..."Is this map over yet?"

- Knifing Cruz while he tried to wrench me (which does no team damage).

- "I think Digi is drunk."

- Driving around in a suicide jeep on Valley Battle.

Things I was less excited about:

- Cruz breaching mine etiquette out of the blue

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Digi and I had a feud going for about three or four consecutive maps. It was great and reminded me of the days when Steve and I would for multiple maps just fight each other and disregard the rest of the game. Digi must have been drunk, because I actually got one or two kills on him. Fun times.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Digi was hilarious last night...not sure what he was doing. He did tank my Warhawk a few times, and it kind of felt like the good old days.

Speaking of which, I'll have to do the math, but I think we are very near 100 weeks.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I'm doing a little practice out there (total noob) and am trying to use my Plantronics usb headphones/microphone and either no one talks during games or it's all garbled. Am I doing something wrong?

Not really. It's a PSN thing. Sony was very open about what people can use for headsets, so there are a ton of crappy bluetooth sets out there.

I have recommended mic settings in the first post, but that only ensures that you sound good to them.

Again, do NOT assume that our games resemble what you see online. They really don't IMO.

A combination of both - crappy blutooth headsets are rampant on PSN. Then not everybody talks or owns a headset.
