Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Here's how we play in call of duty:
Zombies have only a knife (and other things Warhawk doesn't have -- blast shield, smoke grenades), Zombies are slowed down by heavy guns (maybe no jumping in Warhawk?). Zombies can only knife, once you've been knifed by a zombie you become a zombie. If you knife a zombie, you must become a zombie (this rule stems from being too close to a zombie = being infected).
The survivors can have any bullet-shooting guns (and a few things Warhawk doesn't have -- claymore, C4, but these can be offset by having grenades). The survivors pick a location on the map and hunker down there and defend it. The Zombie's objective is to breach the defense and infect as many survivors as he can, if he dies then he must try again. The last surviving person become the zombie in the next round. No team killing, no hide-and-seek.
It can be translated to Warhawk, but it will take some trial and error.

It's a great blend of skill and luck in MW2 - Headshots only is another part that can't be replicated in Warhawk. keeps the survivors from totally slaughtering the zombies.

My mistake, I think, was calling it "Zombie" in the first place. It gave you an expectation that I didn't intend...that it would be just like CoD.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I think what he means is that the survivors stick together and move in a group to not get taken down by zombies, whereas right now noone sticks together because survivors have no friends and noone they can trust so they are very easy to pick off as they are separated by necessity. Zombies are moving around freely, no hiding...the main point being that survivors stick together. They can hunker down, but if their position is compromised then they can move if they want to and it would be in their best interest to move as a group instead of just randomly running out on your own.

I think the zombies are going to need to be able to use machine guns as getting knife close to a group of 8 warhawkers is going to be a challenge. COD's environment and first person perspective allows for people to sneak up more easily.
I do think this would need to be played in something like the map where we played last week so that there are more close quarter type stuff. The open maps where the survivors can hunker down with 300 yards of visibility is probably going to make it too difficult for the zombies initially.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
What if we reversed it, and the person who did the teamkilling becomes the infected? Not saying "Zombie" anymore because you just can't lumber in Warhawk.

Not quite sure what that solves. Having any sort of repercussion for team killing just encourages the behavior just to be funny. And other then that it would just penalize people for accidental team killing which Im not sure that is necessary.

I'll probably do it sometime this weekend...might try to get Lee to jump in as well. Just an open practice and maybe a tour of some of the bread and butter maps (i.e. here's the best route to escape with this flag...or here's the binoc spawn).

Warhawk................................8:00PM eastern to approximately 11:00PM eastern every Tuesday
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2...9:30PM eastern to approximately 12:30PM eastern every Thursday
We use the DLC packs in Warhawk and in Modern Warfare 2, but we're always willing to accommodate new players by dropping the DLC off for the first couple of weeks. If you have PSN +, then you can get the Warhawk DLC for free right now.
On Wednesdays and Fridays we also do some games, but they are on a request/rotation basis. The current games we alternate between are Red Faction: Guerrilla, Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, Burnout: Paradise, Bioshock 2, and Red Dead Redemption. Most of those can be found for around 20 or so dollars if you're interested. We don't currently use the DLC in any of those games.
I don't know anything about the NHL or NCAA leagues, so someone else will have to fill you in there.

Its always a good idea to post whether you will be joining up for Warhawk a couple of days ahead of time since the maps are loaded up ahead of time. That way the powers that be can Leave some non DLC maps in for newbies.
There is also an NCAA 11 league that is already underway. And I believe an NHL league is getting started up. Check the threads for info

Please read the first post carefully for intent and basic rules of the game. We don't use mines and we try to have some etiquette in regards to "base raping" and running up the score. It's meant to be a friendly game among adults.
I think I'll edit the OP right now to include K&N rules, Vehicular Manslaughter rules, and Infected (you heard me) rules.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Also, those other games are well worth picking up and all can be found for under $20 (other than Red Dead).
I'd pick them up, in order:
Burnout Paradise (crazy fun car playground)
Red Faction: Guerilla (fully destructible environments and lots of splosions)
Bioshock 2 (fun when we team up and take on randoms)
Resistance 2 (8-player co-op)

I just happen to see it when you had posted that. I wasn't intending to dive in for the 5000th post.
