Note to self and others...turn Slider into a human fireworks display every time he even thinks about getting in a Warhawk.

I was doing pretty good just hiding this week. Quite a few matches I would hear people "Where the fuck is Slider at?" then I'd binoc or snipe someone. That's my style. I only get in a Warhawk when someone has my flag or team kills me.

Tell you what. Pick up the game, and I'll host a DLC-free night for you. Worst-case, you don't like it and you're out $15 (not likely IMO)...best case, you dig it and pay another $17 for the DLC.
I'll throw it back at the top of my Gamefly queueue (sp). and if I like I may keep it for whatever my discount is.

Let me know when you have it in-hand, and I'll build a DLC-free rotation for that week...even a couple weeks, if you want.

FWIW, If you really like it, you'll wish you had it on your hard-drive and that you had jumped on this sale. I know several here sold their disks and downloaded it during the last sale. Odds are you'll get hooked. We haven't had a regular fade away in 6 months...or at least I can't think of one.

Give or take. I assumed 60 weeks at 3 hours/night.

The $25 for everything sale sounded like a great deal. Sounds like a plan. I'll post when I've got it in hand.

Again, the game itself is the same price this week as it was that week ($15). It's part of the spring sale. The expansions aren't on sale this time though. They were $10 for the 3-pack that week.

I couldn't find the 3-pack on PSN for some reason, but it used to be either $17 or $18. Can anybody else find that? ...wondering if it's blocked for me because I bought the first two in a 2-pack that doesn't exist anymore.

Anyway, you could get the whole thing today for $32 or $33 if you can find the 3-pack.

Also, there is a free demo if you just want to check the game out. I don't know how good it is because I can't get in it. It blocks out current players presumably so they can't go in and torment newbs.

I started playing the demo which got me hooked to the game and made me buy it. I really suggest you playing it, I hope there are still people playing the demo though.

A recap of how I got here. Played the demo a little bit, had fun and rented WH from Gamefly but sent it back promptly due to being slaughtered online (flying douchbags) and having some new release I wanted to rent at the time. Eventually found the MW2 online PS3 league, Had a blast playing with that group (sometimes it is fun to NOT play with whiny 13 year old future racists of America) and found out it was a spinoff of this thread. Started reading this thread and wondered to myself 'What the f__k did I do wrong when I had WH? You guys are having a blast.' And here we are.

I can be a flying douchebag at times, but I hardly 'own' anyone.

Sauce posted on the eighth page I think about having this game, but as far as I know he never played with the group.

Awesome story...now go download the game for $15 and play with us on Tuesday.

If you don't have fun, Slider will reimburse your $15. If he doesn't fully agree with this plan, I'm sure he'll mention it in-game.

Busted.

You want variety? Warhawk (the entire downloadable game) is the same price as the Stimulus Package.

The Booster Combo Package (all 3 maps, 2 vehicles, and jetpacks) is $16.

$31 total until next Tuesday.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

True but our house hold runs a tight budget with 1 income from 2 jobs, 2 kids and another one on the way. The Stimulus package has been on the books for a couple of months. Warhawk may be delayed a couple of weeks.

one day whoever hosted forgot to password protect our game...the lobby turned into a mess with players who were all named "killer187" and "deathman" raping people...it gave us all a new appreciation of the people we play with.

That was one of the rare weeks I missed, and I almost wish I could have seen it! Random online games are absolutely a nightmare. We make a point to not "pile on" our fellow players, especially new guys. It's not at all uncommon for us to "escort" new players across the map or let them score a flag just so they can feel like they accomplished something. Other things:

- MOST everybody is mic'ed, so we can communicate
- We play with "all-talk" so both teams can hear each other.
- I try to balance the teams every game (simply by asking people to switch teams.
- We don't use mines, which are the weapons employed in the most unsavory ways.
- We try to limit other very powerful weapons (TOWs and Binocs) or how we use them.
- We just make a point generally to "play friendly".

We have a few players who will occasionally wander off and be annoying rather than play constructively, but for the most part we have about as good an experience as you can have playing with other douchebags online.
