Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I'm pretty sure that was aimed at nic. With R2 gone so long, I kind of got used to picking up the slack. I think I might have also thrown out a "Nice flying dickhead" when he flew into a rock.

The funniest thing for me was hopping in the back of nic's jeep and talking shit about his driving all the way across Archipelago...and then going over the top of the hill to find a tank and instant death.

@ Slider, I think you have to spawn up there, and you will also get binocs periodically in hero because your ammo maxes when you're the hero. It's probably fun to binoc folks from up there once or twice, but it's not terribly productive. I've gotta say, I did deeply deeply enjoy binoc'ing Steve in Hero when he was the Hero.

Awesome to see R2 in the game again!!!

I was certainly the object of teamkills last night. Steve runs over me in a jeep, I respawn, and get run over again by Steve's jeep.

I will say, it's kinda nice to be somewhat in the middle of the pack in terms of skill with all those newbies playing.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Team damage has added a wonderful new element to our game. I've gone back and forth between 40 and 50%, and it's honestly kind of hard to tell the difference...but man does it bring the funny.

I've also discovered that shorter save times on the flag (15 secs vs. 30-45 secs) offsets the zero spawn time a bit. Heck, with the kind of numbers we've been getting, I'm tempted to bring back the 5 second spawn anyway.

I think we were playing 8 on 7 at one point last night, which is pretty solid.

I just want to get up there so I can knife Steve. Sniping worked pretty good yesterday though.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Also, for the Grinder I've been the MVP two weeks in a row. A lot of people seem to hide when they become the hero, and that's not the most productive thing. As long as you don't run into the other team's hero, you are pretty much invincible. Each time I was hero I got five or six kills, and I was the hero three times last night. Take your flame thrower over to the enemy's base and light their asses up. Oh, is there a way to remove the score limit on that map?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I bumped the score limit up to 50 on Grinder, and I think it finished 32-33. I can bump it to 100, but I don't think it would matter.

You're right about scoring though. The best way to score points is to kill people as the hero or to kill the other team's hero.

There will absolutely be a second Hero map next week, unless there's serious objection. I just need to think of something small like Grinder with jeeps but no tanks or warhawks. Maybe Badlands Fortress or the Garden map on Destroyed Capital...but neither of them have jeeps. Eucadia Urban Strike/Northern Bridge are too big and have Tanks/Warhawks. Any ideas?

I will happily wait two weeks for a zones map, as we have been PROFOUNDLY bad at zones in the past.

Perhaps a smaller zones map that doesn't give the advantage to flyers would work.

Again, I ask for suggestions.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

For the lobby, maybe knifes, nades and pistols? Just the starting weapons, and if someone is shooting you with a pistol you just run up and knife them.

My instinct is that it wouldn't work because you run backwards just as fast as you run forwards. You could just back away and cap away.

But if the map were small enough, it could get sufficiently chaotic that it would inhibit/balance the "backing away".

For now, I'll stick with Wiz's request at face value. I think it's the first time he's ever asked for anything.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I've asked for Knives and Nades before. Other boards are so chaotic and so filled with every single weapon (sans mines) I find it really nice to have that one limitation to start out.

But thanks for putting it into the list!
