Bought the GotY edition yesterday. Turns out I had about 3 'main' quests to go, so I finished the game sometime around 1am. I like Fawkes
I'm excited to start the expansion packs now, but I'm not sure if I have enough hard drive space... and there's nothing on there I want to delete.

I booted up the GOTY edition (PS3) and went to my last save (Liberty Prime) which was really laggy. Has anyone else playing the PS3 version noticed any lag?

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
Is it weird that I have an urge to buy the GOTY edition even though I bought the original PS3 version, then the Xbox version, then all 5 DLC expansions? Not that I'll actually do it, but I just love this game so much that the completionist instinct is there. Best gaming experience of my entire life.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
Does anyone know how the dlc on the goty edition (ps3) works? I just loaded up the disc and nothing new had to load, but trophies updated. I loaded my old save and couldn't tell a difference. On the main title screen there is a option that says "downloads" and lists all the missions, but it doesn't give you an option to do anything with them. I only had a few minutes to mess with it and was just hoping to load everything for when I get to actually play. Anyone with an old ps3 save care to fill me in? Thanks

DLC are just missions, like the normal game. So just check your radio for signals, and you should see them appear to you.

Yep! After you roam around for a minute or two each of the radio signals will pop up one right after another. Let me know if you're getting a bunch of lag on the PS3 version.

It makes me sad every time this thread jumps to the top, as I have already enjoyed the game way beyond any future replay, with over 3 complete games, every DLC, and almost 160 hours on my main save. I really hope Dragon Age Origins lives up to this game, and captures that epic RPG I have been craving. Lets also pray they don't fuck up Fallout Vegas.

As for lag, is that a known issue with the GOTY edition? I never had any of the glitches that other people had with the first edition, so I'm hoping my luck continues.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
My original version on PS3 got a bit buggy...especially when I had sidekicks.
I just got in the habit of keeping multiple rotating saves and tolerated it as best I could.
I want the GOTY edition now, but with Batman and Uncharted on deck, I don't think I'd get to it for a while...but I'll absolutely pick it up down the road at $20-30. Easily a "top 10" game for me.

So do you play the DLC after you complete the whole game? Or do you have to not do the final mission so you can start on the DLC?
I completed the game, but am wondering if I should start off w/ a new character or if I'm allowed to continue onwards with the character I finished the game with.

I wouldn't recommend Point Lookout at early levels, however.

So it appears that you can just install the 360's GOTY content onto the hard drive and put it away. I've checked at several rental stores and nobody is stocking it. If some one is interested in swapping the DLC disc in the mail for a "rental" in exchange for use of the one in Oblivion GOTY, or would be willing to loan it to me for a $5-$10 "rental" fee, please send me a PM.

Reserved for discussion of pinata's 360 GOTY DLC Share Train, currently discussed in the VG Deals thread, but hopefully to be moved here instead.
Ok, here's the chain as I have it so far:
Decker
SoonerDoc
MWB
Tarantino (via PM last night)
Shagrath
jonw9 (?)
murray731
Groucho
I'll be sending it out to Decker today. What'll work is if you simply PM the person above you on the list with your address so they know where to send it next. You'll be responsible for the outbound shipping cost. I'm comfortable with this list as most of the names on there are regulars so don't break my trust. The OXM Rock Band chains worked well for a while.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
I haven't cracked open my GOTY yet, because I know when I do I'll be playing mostly that for the next 50-90 hours. Plus i'm trying to sell some unfinished games that I know I won't get back to.
Question on the DLC Share train:
We are not allowed to discuss copying software or dvds on this site, correct? And many if not most people here are vehemently anti-piracy of DVDs or software, I believe.
By sharing a disk containing DLC, that one person bought, for additional people to install on hard drives then continue passing around - isn't that the very definition of "making an unauthorized copy", and hence, technically piracy? The DLC is still widely available, both in disk form and downloadable from XBL Marketplace (and I assume PSN as well), so there's not even the argument that "you can't get it elsewhere". At the very least, it should not be referenced on this site, and at best, people here shouldn't be supporting it.
Please correct me where I'm wrong, or point out the error in my logic. I'm not trying to be Moraler Than Thou in any way, I'm just trying to reconcile an apparent inconsistency. (And yes, I did participate in the Rock Band/OXM disk share train - karma bit me though, because the day I received the disk was the day my Xbox died from Unreadable Disk, so I didn't get to install it, and I sent it on before getting my box back.)
I think I'm going to be a little badder this time, I played as pretty good on my last playthrough. I need to flip through a guide to point me in the direction of some of the things I know I missed (I didn't get Dogmeat until i was 80% of the way through the game, for instance.)

Yeah, dt makes a good point, and I know that I'm just as guilty re: the OXM share from a while back. No discussion of that on the site please.
