Will our saves from the regular version be able to be used in the GOTY version?

Dogmeat is by far the least interesting companion you get, and he requires some serious babysitting (one of my least favorite things to do in a game).

im pretty sure with one of the new patches, they made it so Dogmeat would level up with your character. So hes pretty good at level 20

Also, with the new perk you get with the DLC Broken Steel, you can clone Dogmeat so he never dies....
I never really liked having a companion because I found it difficult to play stealthy with them.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
my second time through I never even bothered getting dogmeat
even the first time through I left him at home 99% of the time
although I rarely used any of the companions. they just weren't interesting and would end up wandering around and getting noticed by enemies when I didn't need to start a fight
that's about the only thing I don't like about FO3, it's really just a 1 character game not party based like 1 and 2

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

Bethesda has just sent us the boxart and details on the Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition, set to release on October 13th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. In it, you'll find that all five of the DLC packs released up to this point are included:
* Operation Anchorage
* The Pitt
* Broken Steel
* Point Lookout
* Mothership Zeta
The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will sell for $59.99, while the Games for Windows version will go for $49.99.
In related news, an update for the PS3 version of Fallout 3 is coming. It fixes some issues, optimizes the game, and adds Trophy support for DLC. Bethesda says that Broken Steel will be available next Thursday, September 24th. That will be followed by the release of of both Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt on October 1st, and the Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta combo on October 8th.
If you haven't jumped into Fallout 3 yet, this is the perfect chance.

If the TRU B2G1F sale happens in late October, this is a no-brainer.

Yep, I can't wait until this comes out. I just started F3 back in August and got far enough to realize I needed to go ahead and trade it and get the GOTY edition in October. I left off during the middle of a quest and am ready to fire this back up immediately! I wonder if TRU will have a special sale on this one? Sine this is technically a reissue with added content, I would not be surprised if if comes out with little fanfare.
Fable II disappointed me but this did not.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
Each expansion is $10 ($50) plus the game itself ($30 on half.com). So you're looking at more cobbling it together. However, AFAIK, you can rent/borrow the DLC disc expansions to rip them as there are a few CAG trains going on for them, which could lower your cost. ($4 for shipping/supplies and $1 fee to the OG CAG user) That would put it at $50 piecemeal.
Another bonus to the GOTY edition is that all the DLC is on disc which saves hard drive space.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
It doesn't save HDD space, you have to install it from the disc. That's how the train would work, I imagine. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to look into that, especially if the original version drops to the $20-$30 range new.
I'm hoping the TRU deal comes through because I have my eye on Brutal Legend and some filler to exchange for when Lego Rock Band comes out a few weeks later.

I should've waited till game of the year since i barely played much of it. But with TRUs new trade in program, i can get a $25 gift card for Fallout 3 and so I'll only pay $35 for all the expansions.
