So, I have been playing zack and wiki "with" my kids lately. This game is freaking hard. Though, I was never a big adventure game player.

I've been on the last stage for nearly a year.

I've only done 5 stages and feel the need to look up a walkthrough.

I had to consult a walk through twice... and they were both from really dumb things.

Give it some time... you'll enjoy it.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

I finally got around to downloading a few virtual console games including: Super Mario Brothers, Mario Kart, Tecmo Bowl etc.

When I play these the audio is very low. The sound affects seem to sound normal but the music is very low and on some games seems like it's cutting out at times.

I have my wii connected to my receiver and have the wii audio settings set to stereo. Setting the audio to Mono does seem to help a little (or maybe it's my imagination)

Has anybody seen something similar and have any suggestions? I can turn it up, but the problem is when I exit out the wii minus etc. sound blows out my eardrums it's so loud at that point.

I like it well enough. I think I just need to get used to the adventure game conventions.

I think my Wii is fucked up because I will have audio cut out on one speaker sometimes. I am also going through my receiver, and I don't believe I had this problem with just the TV connected for sound, but I'm too lazy to check. However it's for some regular games as well. I noticed it particularly in HOTD: Overkill.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

A buddy of mine was having similar problems with his Wii, turned out to be the component cable (Nintendo brand), and not the Wii itself.

Saw this at Walmart the other day, made me a bit sad to see but it's a hell of a good deal. Probably a YMMV. Pardon the blur.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Well, they just released the game on the iPhone with an SRP of $7, and it was on sale last week for $5. $10 across the board doesn't sound too unlikely at this point. Here's some info on the iPhone version:

The release is based on the 'Director's Cut' release for Wii and DS last year, which packs extra content--making the game 20% longer, Revolution says--and features new artwork and animations by Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons as well as a hint system.

Broken Sword uses an "an improved version" of the controls from Revolution's iPhone revamp of its dystopian adventure Beneath a Steel Sky, which came out last October.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Does the iPhone version have the voice acting? The DS version drove me nuts since it didn't, yet the mouths were still fully animated.

I loved that game on DS. I might spend another $10 for the Wii version with voice acting.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Hits North America May 23

Super Mario Galaxy 2 hits North America on May 23, Nintendo of America's Cammie Dunaway told a group of writers gathered in San Francisco for the Nintendo Summit this morning.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 will also be playable at today's day-long event.

Earlier today, writers at a similar event in Australia learned that both Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Other M would be hitting stores there "mid year".

First revealed at E3, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is said to have 90 percent new levels with the rest being levels from the original Mario Galaxy with different objectives. Shigeru Miyamoto said at the time that the original plan was to "essentially create new variations of the worlds in Super Mario Galaxy." But, over time, the developers have had so many ideas that most of those originals were cut.

I wonder if my Wii will catch fire from an accumulation of dust on the inside.

The Nintendo Channel has updated with all of today's media summit videos. The first half of the year is looking amazing for the Wii!

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Does Nintendo normally drop prices when sequels come out? I still don't have Galaxy, but I won't jump on the Galaxy 2 until after I've played (and hopefully beat) Galaxy. Also, I guess this Summit just covered the first half? There was no news on Zelda, was there?

As much as I'm looking forward to Galaxy, Other M and the next Zelda, I wish Nintendo would realize they have more than 3 franchises.

Other M sounds awesome. I'm in for Galaxy too. I'm really hoping they revive Blast Corps. that would rock with motion controls.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

I've never played any of the Metroid games (never got into them on the 8 bit and I never had a GC, so I've got no experience with them), so Mario and Zelda are the big names I'm familiar w/ from Nintendo. However, since most big games aren't coming to the Wii it would make sense for them to expand out from just these three titles. Maybe 2nd half of 2010?

Rare (and now MS) owns Blast Corps.
