Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Hey, question for you all. If I sell my Wii, will all of my VC downloads transfer as well? I mean, are they attached to the user or the system itself? Thanks in advance!

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

They're attached to your Wii and not to "you".

If your Wii breaks, you might be able to make a deal with Nintendo to transfer them somehow, but otherwise, you're shit out of luck.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

If it breaks, you're out $75 for them to send you a refurbished one with your DLC rights transferred.

As an aside, I'm really going to find it interesting if the WiiHD doesn't let you transfer your DLC from the wii on over.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/01/wi...-with-updated/

Nintendo just dropped the price of the Wii Opera browser in Japan and PAL markets to nothing, its original "price" during the system's launch, when the browser was in beta. VOOKS photographed the Wii message that announced the price drop, which also revealed that the version of Flash used in the Wii browser has been updated from Flash 7 to Flash Lite 3.1-- which should make the Internet Channel much more useful. Users who paid 500 Wii Points for the browser will receive a refund of sorts in October -- a credit that can be used on any NES game.

In Japan, the same refund offer applies, and Nintendo is providing more opportunities for free Virtual Console games. Since early this year, Nintendo of Japan has offered 500-point bonuses to Wii owners for helping others get online. Starting October 21, Nintendo will expand this program with new rewards: those who achieve "Helper Meister 10" status (by helping 10 others connect) will gain access to every Nintendo-published Famicom game. "Helper Meister 20" will unlock all Virtual Console games on every platform! That should get people going door to door.

Update: The Internet Channel is now free in North America, and the NES Virtual Console download credit will be extended to those who purchased the browser in the region.

New SMB should be hitting in a few months, but MG2 is about a year off still.

Why haven't they dated NSMB Wii or Zelda: Spirit Tracks yet? I figure both will come out in November, but that's coming up.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

So my friend from Australia was in town and I was showing her the Wii. Started with Wii Sports and then the whole system crashed. After that, it sounded like the CD drive was extra noisy as it was spinning, a loud noticeable whirring. This happen to anyone else? Is my Wii on the way out?

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Looking for advice on a Wii Tennis game. Like the game in Wii Sports but want something with a little more. Have looked at Virtua Tennis, Mario Power Tennis, EA Sports Grand Slam, the new Sports Resort. Any thoughts on the most fun tennis game? Would be nice if its "Kid friendly", ie Tiger Woods golf I like but its WAY too tough to play with the kids. I have a motion plus attachment, do I need a second attachment for another player in some of the games that support motion plus?

There's no tennis in Sports Resort, just ping pong. FYI.

I highly recommend Grand Slam Tennis. You can play with or without the motion plus, but I much prefer the accuracy with it. Pretty fun game that is easy to pick up, but offers more advanced controls if you choose.
