I'd get them all if they were free. I just have a problem starting a collection of TV shows on a media that can't be transfered to another device, like a Zune for example.

Did they let you keep the hard drive? I'm thinking of trading mine in.

Actually I got the answer to the question, they do. I didn't have a problem
They also gave me a 52 dollar in store credit because of the price drop.
I got the HDMI model as well, plus a game I all ready own!

Stan, did you think there's enough gameplay in Small Arms at a 400 pt price? And re-think Zuma; it's a damn cool puzzle game for that price -- I just couldn't bite at 800 points.

According to the blurb on TeamXbox it will change tonight @ 5pm Pacific.
Celebrate this Labor Day weekend by downloading four Arcade favorites for half the price! For the 48 hour period beginning at 12:00 a.m. GMT on Sunday, September 2 (5:00 p.m. PDT on Saturday, September 1) and continuing through 11: 59 p.m. GMT (4:59 p.m. PDT) on Monday, September 3, the following Xbox LIVE Arcade games will be available for half their usual price:

I'm not sure about Zuma... with Puzzle Fighter already, I'm thinking I might already have my fill of puzzle games. Hard to pass up at the low price though... i'm mostly hoping this is a sign of things to come with more "sales" on XBLA games.

Zuma is insanely addictive. Unlike Luxor there is a challenge to it as well. It is a very rewarding game.

Well, my 360 just died - took only 7 months - bought it at Target at the end of January 2007 - I do have my warranty through Microsoft and not Target - should I just call Microsoft, or do you think I could return it to Target? Probably a no-go on the Target angle, but I was thinking about playing up the "I'm a game reviewer for blah blah website" angle instead (even though I'm not) - anything I should know (yes, I will keep my 20 GB HD) before entering this process? Thanks!

Oh, and an odd thing is happening - I went to turn my 360 back for the hell of it and it actually worked - logged into XBL - but then I clicked "play game" (Bioshock) and the system froze again - after shutting down the system, the red rings came back - strange, no?

So I'm buying a 360 today...does anyone have any game recs for me to try out?
Note:
- no Guitar Hero! (I'm waiting for III so I can get the LP controller)
- no sports games (I already know what I like :P, unless there is a baseball game I'm missing somehow)
Other than that I'm pretty open to try anything.

I would also recommend Crackdown. You should easily be able to find it on the cheap now (especially used).
Finally get Oblivion if you like RPGs. A great game that will rule your life for many hours
Also, if you dig baseball, i have heard good things about the Bigs as a slightly arcade baseball game. Check out the demo on the marketplace and see what you think.

I'd suggest if you want to try target, go with your receipt, talk to a manager and offer to A: buy a warranty with them for the new 360 or (if that's not good enough) B: buy a warranty for current 360 and use it to exchange for new 360... and maybe another warranty for new 360... and maybe slip the manager a couple bucks...

These are the games I own and my thoughts:
Retail:
- Bioshock - Absolutely buy this. I bought the CE, and it was worth every penny.
- Crackdown - Worth about $40 or so, that I paid for it. Had a bit more worth with the Halo 3 beta, but this one will hit Platinum Hits soon I'm sure. A lot of fun for a GTA style game.
- Forza 2 - Another really great game, very difficult. It looks like it's going to be bundled this Christmas, so I would wait on picking it up.
- Guitar Hero II - Awesome. But, you may want to wait for Rock Band/GHIII now.
- Oblivion - Wait for the Game of the Year edition later this year with the expansions. Great game though, much better than Morrowind.
- R6: Vegas - Extremely fun tactical shooter. If you can find this for around $40, pick it up. Huge online community as well.
- Star Trek: Legacy - Even as a Trek fan, I regret the $20 I spent on it.
- Viva Pinata - A lot of fun, easily worth $20 or whatever it's going for.
Arcade:
- UNO (free with Gold Vision Pack): A ton of fun. I played this almost daily when I first had my Xbox. Easily worth the 400 points if you enjoy casual online games.
- Robotron (free with Gold Vision Pack): Skip it unless you get it for free.
- Catan: An alright board game. It's cool if you have friends to play with it, though the online community for it has pretty much died out. It's tough to play with people who don't talk as well. Maybe wait and see if they ever drop this to 400 points.
- Carcassone: My favorite XBLA game. A really cool board game. A pretty decent sized online community, and local multiplayer. Great fun. One of the few games worth 800 pts IMHO.
- TMNT 1989 Arcade: Pretty fun for a 400 pt game, esp if you liked it 2 decades ago (yikes). Though the online community has disappeared for this one too.
- Aegis Wing: It's free... so ya.
