Personally I've never had a problem w/ anything I purchased from GF, either via "keep it" or just outright purchase. As you say I'm pretty sure they just warehouse the cases so they don't have any of the usual wear and tear.

I have bought quite a few from them, including 1 recently - the case and manual are like new - it's like they open the case, take the game out and then store the case until someone buys it.

I had a Gamefly account for about 6 months, and finally had to give up and cancel. Just screw up after screw up after screw up.

I was on the plan where I could have two games out at the same time. There were several times when they would send me two copies of the exact same game.

Sometimes they would send me an email telling me they shipped a game out...then three days later I'd get an email saying they received that game, removed it from my queue and sent something different.

The final straw was when they told me they had shipped Gears of War, I received it, opened the envelope and got a copy of Oblivion - a game that wasn't even in my queue because I already own the game.

Just spent way too much time sending crap back to them and waiting on them to fix their mistake and send me a game that I could actually play.

The problem is it takes forever for them to get new games in.

When Gears came out though, i had it by the following Monday.
Yep. It's on the way to me as of today.

I lasted 3 months with Gamefly.

I was on the 1 at a time plan and nothing was EVER in stock for PS3.

They lost both disks I sent back to them.

Update.

1st game shipped Thursday, I got it Saturday. (2 days inbound)
2nd game shipped Friday, I got it Tuesday. (3 days inbound)

1st game returned Tuesday, GameQ updated Thursday (2 days outbound)
2nd game returned Wednesday, GameQ still shows it out (1 day outbound and counting...)

Hoping they'll ship game 3 today and I'll get it Saturday again. Not a terrible experience so far, especially for free (thanks No Use!). But as far as I can tell, I'm not getting "Fast Return" either.

Yep. Definitely a decent service although not up to par with what they promise. My second game was just checked in today. That makes 4 days for each. Within an hour of each a new one shipped. They seem to have that part streamlined.

Dropped both of my first games off at the post office Sunday. Games still show as being out as of Thursday night That means that the turnaround time for getting a new game will be over a week. This service is crap.

We can't link the thread because you have to sign up to even view the forums.

Go to CheapAssGamer.com and search the Video game deals forum for gameznflix.

Why on earth does Gameznflix have a 1-800 customer support # listed if all they do is tell you to email them once you call?

i had a really long stretch of great service from Gfly and then two games in a row got 'lost' somehow.

that sort of ruined my Gfly high.

but despite their spotty turnaround times, the one great benefit of being a member (for me) was the great prices and perfect condition of their used games.

i'm trying gottaplay right now and it's just OK. a LOT of games have a long wait time, but luckily i haven't gone through much of the 360 catalog yet so i'm catching up on stuff like NBA Street and TWoods07. another weird thing is that, i joined partly b/c of having a distribution center (Fullerton, CA) so close to me. but one of my first two games shipped from Pittsburgh, PA. lol. I was like, wtf... so they have some kinks to iron out there.

gamefly is still the best, but far from perfect, rental service i've used.

I sent out one of my games 2 days ago, I live about an hour from LA, and it still hasn't cleared my queue. I wonder what's taking it so long.

Yep. Kinda long. I am enjoying it for the variety. Just playing games I would have never bought. I might stick with it. I'd just like to see this "fast return" at least once during the trial run.

i think i might hold onto my subscription for at least a month after this trial.

I assumed I'd call in to cancel, and they would give me a discount, similar to what it was like calling AOL so many years ago

Not so bad for me. Averaging 2-3 days for each trip so far. I got my 3rd on Saturday and dropped it in the box this morning. The 4th shipped Saturday and I'll get it Tues or Wed.

I might consider sticking it out after this trial. I do agree that I'd like to see the Fast Return be more than a theory.

Wouldn't 3 days each way be basically a week?

Guys, the 'Fast Return' doesn't work because your local post offices aren't scanning the envelopes. It's not Gamefly at fault - they have no way of knowing you've dropped off the games if your P.O. doesn't scan them. That's something you have to take up with them.

My local post office only scans them about 30% of the time. Very annoying.
