No fast return for me. I sent out one on Sat. and one on Mon. and neither are showing up returned in my profile.

They sent my first on Thursday, got it on Saturday - 2 days and I was happy.
They sent my second on Friday, haven't got it yet - 3rd day today (and counting).

I only dropped the first one in my mailbox this morning so we'll see if I get Fast Return.

An alternative to free trial going around:
Most of the "Free <insert game item here>" places have Gamefly as one of the offers you can complete.

I did a month of Gamefly for $9.99 + a free trial of Stamps.com, and got a free XBox 360 Guitar Hero II bundle, plus $5 free postage for the stamps.com trial. $9.99 for Guitar Hero II + Guitar, a month of game rentals, and $5 of free postage was pretty darn nice. That was without needing any referrals, so you don't have to spam your friends/message boards.

Note: I'm not looking for any referrals, and anyone that is, please don't spam your referral code. Thanks.

It sound like he's talking about one of those free system/ipod websites. You sign up for a bunch of random free trials and supposedly get a free system or ipod.

I tried doing that once and one of the companys never refunded my money from the "trial", I had to cancel my credit card. Also a few places didn't even register that I signed up for something and on top of that, they never sent what I wanted and after about 6 months they just sent me an amazon gift card.

It's really not worth it folks, I really would advice against signing up for any of these.

It is one of those free item websites. The one I did required you to complete two offers to get a free 360 game. I avoided all the shady offers and just did the stamps.com and Gamefly offers, since those are obviously reputable companies. No problems whatsoever.

I could try to complete more offers and get a free 360 game for every two offers that I complete, but I have ZERO desire to do any offers involving Hoodia/eBay sales tools/weight loss garbage/psychics/etc, for all the reasons that lukewarmwater mentioned. I figured that the big-name company offers would be fine, and they were.

Any one who wants the free month coupon, post your email address and I'll send it to you asap. It expires today, so hurry.

I am beginning to think they really do not use fast return.

I can't see a service like this being viable to me when I can just drive down the block and pick up a couple games from Blockbuster in 10 minutes. Waiting 3+ days for them to get a return is a bit much.

Eh, game rentals at Hollywood Video are like 7.99 for 5 days. So if i can get Gamefly for around 10$ for 2 games out at a time then keeping those two games in the month is a better deal for me. If i get another one or 2 in a month it's gravy. I also dig the decent prices on buying used games.

two games were mailed on Thursday - was hoping to get them Saturday as PA is only two states away. No dice. Game #1 came Monday - not too bad. Game #2 hasn't shown up yet

Generally my games take 1 day to get back but take 3 days for the newly shipped games to get to me. The Pittsburgh shipping center wasn't really helping me there for a bit but it seems better now. I'm less than an hour from their shipping center but it seemed to take me as long to get games as my buddy 3 states away.

Exactly. That's why I don't rent games. Things come up and I may not get the time I want to spend on a game. At least with Gamefly you can keep them as long as you want, alleviating that problem.

Yep, me too. If i get really jonesing for a particular game i may rent it from Hollywood but only with one of the Diamond Card coupons for rent one get one free to make me feel like i reduced the price at least a little.

I just now got acknowledgment for my first game, four days after I shipped it. Wow! That is fast! Tomorrow will be four days since I shipped my second one. So my next one is shipping. One week in and fast return is a joke.

I bet they hold people back on the free trials. Didn't Netflix get in trouble for doing that?

idk. I had to file a report through them for the damaged Darkness disc I got. They shipped it before they even got the other copy back.

Netflix did the opposite. You got incredibly rapid turn-arounds for the free trial and then it slowed to a near halt for heavy-users once the trial was over. Everyone cried foul and then Netflix finally admitted they throttled people based on useage.

Has anyone purchased a used game from Gamefly? Was the manual and case in good condition?

I'm thinking of doing a "keep it" on DiRT (360) and the disc looks fine, but wanted to make sure the case/manual would arrive well taken care of. I assume they are, since they don't send them out, so maybe this is a dumb question...

Does gamefly have NCAA 2008 in stock yet? I have an account with gameznflix and it's still on order. So just out of curiosity I started looking around and pretty much every game that came out in July is on Order. Hell Overlord which came out on the 26th is still on order. when I send games back they normally come off my listing in a day or 2. When they ship a game i get it within a couple of days. The problem is it takes forever for them to get new games in.

When Gears came out though, i had it by the following Monday.

You should read the thread on CAG about gameznflix. Every new game is on order, people are going weeks without getting anything shipped to them, and the CSRs don't see to care. It sounds as though the company is on death's doorstep and can't afford to buy new games or send many games out.
