The bad thing is the "real" Revolution will probably never live up to the fake one.

Compact Size is not a Revolution so there had better be more to it than that.

Well, to be fair the headset visor is probably around 3 DVD cases thick. This is either the work of a super genius (who thinks up this stuff on their own?) or real. I'm leaning towards real.

In the video, it showed it connecting to a TV and Monitor. Sweet.

IGN is confirming its a fake. Whoever faked it put it a ton of time doing it.

Hype: Revolution Mock-Up
A new fan-made Revolution video has Nintendo fans marveling at the possibilities. Must see.
by Matt Casamassina

May 13, 2005 - The six-plus minute video appeared on various message boards this afternoon and ever since Nintendo fans everywhere have been fighting to download it. The render, created by an unknown (and very talented) artist or artists, mocks-up what some Nintendo fans would call their dream scenario: a Nintendo Revolution that is so far ahead of the curve that it truly revolutionizes the way people play games. In this case, the console is no longer a console, but a virtual reality headset.

The video is not real, but some fans probably wish it were.

IGN has included the video in downloadable form. Readers are free to check it out. While it's unlikely that the render is at all an indication of the final system, which Nintendo plans to talk about and showcase at E3 2005, it's an impressive design feat nevertheless.

I don't see why Nintendo would release all the other details if this were real. They would simply stay quiet about it if it was a VR headset. I think it will simply be a sleak and small console (probably purple ) and the controller will be where all the innovation is if there really is innovation at all.

The sad thing is some true fan produced this video for fun, which I believe in turn will lead to disappointed gamers later on when they see that the "revolution" is no where near this. I hope people will still consider what Nintendo offers up and not compare it to this "dream" scenario.

It was a good fake how it incorporated all the confirmed facts of the Rev., all but the latest as Flay pointed out. It would be sweet if this was real, but their really is no way folks.

I hadn't even thought about how they would pull that off for $299.99.

They are still keeping the info on the controller under wraps (other than it being wireless) so that is probably the big news for E3. They still might come up with something different for the graphics, but I don't see how they could pull it off on a regular TV.

I'd buy that in a heartbeat if they can pull it off. Can't believe after all the comments about the gamecube looking like a purse, that they'd create the revolution to look like a toaster, though!

I can't believe anyone would believe that video.

And if it cost 1000 I would have to seriously consider it. Maybe one day...

I guess we will be seeing a new Zelda game... as long as we don't get dizzy and fall down the steps first.

I've been burned before with the virtual machine, so I'm going to wait for an official announcement so I don't get owned.

Fake. The name "Revolution" is only Nintendo's internal code name for the system. It has a real name but it hasn't been revealed yet (probably at tomorrow's press conference.) That logo was taken from IGN's website...it's just something they created to use until they get the real thing.

I really wish that pocket GC was real. I would love to have one of those.

This has got to be fake, simply because I can't believe Nintendo would do something as un-ergonomic as those red/green buttons. Plus, I liked the toaster better!

No, they just just combined two words to make one (like 'Gamecube'). Cartrage (or cart rage) is the built up anger old N64 carts have because they are envious of CDs. By inserting these old carts into the new system, it effectively boost the performance of the system. Revolutionary idea to say the least.

Everyone erring on the side of caution this time around. I'm not a handheld person, but I'd have to look into that gameboy if it was legit. A system that plays current games would be stellar.

Which all leads back to one of the reasons they went with the 3" disc for GC. Future portability.

Plus, how can you have a slot loading drive that accepts both 12 and 8 cm disks?

Well, it's probably fake, but the caption says you press a button to widen the slot for the 12 cm disks.

The problem is disc access. If the handheld was designed to play GameCube games it would have to access the disc constantly. I doubt the battery life would be more than 2 hours which would never work for Nintendo.

Nintendo will have to design the device to read discs the same way the PSP is designed to give it an exceptable battery life. I just don't see those GC discs going portable.
