I'm interested in Nintendogs, that looks like a lot of fun. A friend of mine is very pumped about advance wars ds, but for me they would have to significantly revolutionise the gameplay because the series has gone a bit stale.

I'm not sure if this has already been posted:
Q&A: Nintendo Vice President George Harrison

"
GS: They are putting a lot of emphasis on power. But USA Today said that the Revolution is only going to be two or three times more powerful than the GameCube. Can you give me those details?
GH: Yeah, well we haven't released any of the technical specs. We're working with IBM and ATI, so certainly all the capability that we need is there right in our development partners. We try to figure out how to strike a balance between giving the developers everything that they need to make great games, and not having it be so much that they have to spend inordinate amounts of money. In the end it has to be a business. Publishers have to be able to create the game and sell it effectively, and be able to then support the next game.
"
Probably doesn't really clarify anything .

The other nice thing in that interview (if it turns out to be true) is that all first-party downloads will be free. I won't believe it until I actually download something for free, though. Sounds too good to be true.

Here's a (mostly?) complete list of games that Nintendo developed. It includes a few Japanese games. Hopefully US people can DL Japanese games also. I tried to take out all of the cancelled games, but I might have missed a few. Obviously, the cancelled games will not be available.
Some people insist that Nintendo has the full rights to second-party games also, while some people insist that they don't. That remains to be seen, but I'd guess it is the latter.

Hmm, I'm not sure he really was promising every game would be free. It seems more like Nintendo will use them as incentive and rewards for buying Nintendo products more than anything. I have no doubt they will give many away, but I don't think you will get unlimited free access to the entire Nintendo catalog from what I have read so far.

And to be honest, with all the money that Nintendo has gotten from me over the years, I should get free copies of the games that I already own (but there probably isn't a viable way to do that).

Good news from Japan for Nintendo:
Revolution Still "On Top" In Japan
6/6/2005, 11:07am Eastern Time
Famitsu has reported updated numbers for its poll asking which console readers are most looking forward to. Te Revolution is still on top by a large margin. Here's the breakdown:
* Revolution: 43%
* Playstation 3: 34%
* Xbox 360: 22%
In the latest results, the Revolution and Xbox 360 have climbed in popularity while the Playstation 3 has fallen quite a bit. Readers cited the fact that Revolution will have downloadable classics, its size, and the mystery behind the console as their reasons for being most interested in it. Although these are only early poll numbers, they are promising for Nintendo. (pcr)

Nintendo is doing very well in Japan right now with the DS and with the anticipation of the Revolution. They need to find a way to win over more American's though.

According to a recent post by blog site Nintendo Centrium, the specifications to Nintendo's highly elusive Revolution console have been "leaked" via an inside programmer who is currently under contract with the company. Known only as HereticPB from the post

With all Nintendos talk about making it easy for developers I can't imagine them going any sort of dual cpu setup. Its likely that a single powerful cpu will be the go.. Aside from the cpu looks pretty good though.

Thanks Can't decide if its' still cheaper to import or go for the UK model, hmm.
As for Revolution and the downloadable games, I've read some Rare games maybe available (such as the DKC games?) but not those that feature "Non-nintendo" characters (so sadly that rules out titles like the excellent Diddy Racing, Goldeneye or Perfect Dark). Poo
