Hmm, I'd almost buy that if it said "push a button to shrink the slot to fit 8 cm disks[/i]. I can't believe the default behavior would require an extra button push for Revolution games.

My poor eyesight is seeing an "open" button on the top of the system. Top loading like GC. Then the seperate slot for GC games. But all is pretty moot if this is a fake, which I'm pretty sure it is.

There are already drives capable of doing this. Based on what Nintendo has released so far it appears their system may actually end up with a loading drive like this.

Those mockups are probably fake, but the slot loading drive could be real.

Nintendo's legions of loyal fans will be happy to learn that Revolution will be backward compatible, playing both Nintendo GameCube 8cm disks along with its own 12cm optical disks in the same self-loading media drive.

Looks like the new Zelda is subtitled The Twilight Princess with a dominant wolf form being drawn into the background. Nice. IGN was screaming wolf-mechanics and there it is. Sounds real cool to me. Check Nintendojo for details.

Not a bad title. I can't wait for Zelda, looks phenomenal. Totally keeping me from getting excited about the next gen consoles.

Well, it looks like the new Nintendo may be the last place to find games that don't involve guns or cars.

Hmm, its working for me. I got it off cube.ign.com, check there, I am about to leave for a week of camping.

Enjoy the launch everybody, I'll be missing it for my first true love, the outdoors. BTW check out Nintendo.com right now for some "funny" clips. It's good to see Nintendo starting to roll with the PR catering.

Nice. Playstation got big. Xbox got ugly. This is what a console should look like.

Damn, I'm at work.. I'm not going to get to see any pretty pictures since IGN and gaming sites are generally blocked.

I really like the look of it. Guess we won't get to see the controller though.

Doesn't look like a Nintendo system though. More like something from Sony.

Its nice because since it will be completely wireless, you can tuck it way with the rest of your gear.

So, is Nintendo planning on releasing a followup to Mario 64 or was Super Mario Sunshine the followup?

Small and compact, but ugly in a utilitarian way. Looks more like a computer component than a console.

Okay, one fire control before I go:

May 17, 2005 - New details regarding Nintendo's next-generation console, codenamed Revolution, have started to sprinkle onto the Internet. The machine, which will be revealed during Nintendo's pre-E3 2005 show on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles, will sport a slick, black design and a front blue light.

Revolution will be "two-to-three times more powerful than GameCube," according to Nintendo, which also acknowledges that the next-generation race isn't solely about new technologies. By contrast, Microsoft's Xbox 360 console is 13-15 times more powerful than the first, according to the publisher. And Sony says it's PlayStation 3 is roughly 35 times more powerful than PlayStation 2.

Nintendo also revealed that using Revolution's new Wi-Fi connection, gamers would be able to go online to a free gamer-matching service. Interestingly, in a move similar to Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade service, Revolution users will be able to download classic and new Nintendo games over the Internet. Nintendo cited such examples as Donkey Kong and Super Mario Sunshine, which suggests that Revolutionaries could have access to games for all the publisher's previous consoles.
Nintendo is being honest, I have no doubt the 360 and PS3 are more powerful, but no where near the magnitude they claim (above). Lets wait and see the games before declaring the Rev. a dead duck in performance. All right, I'm out of here.

Actually, yes! Hmm.. looks good, I think. Picture is small, hopefully some better ones will trickle out after their press conference today. Hopefully Nintendo's show will feature more on actual gaming than hype and numbers but I'm probably asking too much considering today's "industry."
