Never been a big fan of MacGruber. I don't understand the point of parodying a show 20+ years after it airs.

I'll spare y'all my thoughts on the musical guest for one week

The funniest moment of the show was the second the door opened for the threesome. I must have watched it 10 times.

The country music sketch was excellent. Classic weird surreal Will Forte.

update minus Bowen Yang was really good too Sarah Sherman and guy with a boat killed it. I still don’t get Bowen Yang. He’s flat out not funny.

i only caught bits and pieces of the musical guest. Gross.

Macgruber started off just alright but paid off really well with QAnon shaman.

Thing is, It doesn’t really depend on MacGuyver to be funny. You don’t really need to know anything about it. That said, I haven’t watched the show yet, but I love the movie.

It was none other than the former Mr Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Phillippe. 😅

It's odd, I watched two episodes of the Peacock show and he looked exactly the way he did in the movie. But he looked off/odd on this show. Not so much older, but like he had fillers done or something.

At this point the joke is not at all about parodying MacGyver. The situation --trapped with a bomb-- is always the same. It's about McGruber as a character, the idea that this "hero" is such an awful and clueless bastard.
Haven'r seen the new TV series, but the movie went beyond referencing any specific show and was a parody of the action hero genre.

Can't believe you're not gonna tell us how much you loved Moleskin!!

Fine! Even though I won't be buying their records, I dug it. Musicians playing their instruments and performing it all live without relying on camera tricks, storytelling videos, or elaborate setups and dance crews. Exactly what I want from the SNL musical guest. Plus, they're someone I never heard of, it's good to give the exposure to someone who's not already at the top of the charts.

I always enjoy watching new artists, but their music did nothing for me at all. I will say that I was impressed with the girl. She’s clearly a Tina Weymouth fan.

It was hard to make out what he was saying, but I did catch a few words which were in English... and I know they weren't singing in Italian because I'd have an easier time understanding them if it were.
I talked to my mom today and she said she watched them win at SanRemo and she was clear that she really hates the band... and more than most bands.

BTW, McKinnon sounded nothing like Laura Ingraham. Not sure who she was trying to impersonate.

Good grief... they first song they sang was "Beggin'" (made famous by the Four Seasons and then reinvented by a French DJ a few years ago which was used on the Step Up 3D soundtrack) and "I Wanna Be Your Slave" an original that I will admit was kind of mumbled, but I could understand them okay.

They weren't bad... but they weren't great either.
