Living in a house with country music fans, I know and appreciate Luke Comb's music. His latest hits are She Got The Best of Me, When It Rains It Pours, Beautiful Crazy, and Hurricane, will be Country Standards.
... and he's pretty good on stage.
Should be a few good performances.

What makes this athlete 'famous'? i don't follow sports at all and even less football but i at least know SOME of the headline grabbing footballers that COULD(and already had) get an SNL hosting gig (Brady, Gronk, Kapernick, Manning etc etc)

He is also really charismatic, was the star of his season of Hard Knocks and is also a bit of an actor and had a small part in Bad Moms.

This is probably the combo of guest/ musical guest that I've had the least interest in since I've started watching SNL.

I didn't care for the musical guest, but I certainly liked that it was musicians on stage, playing. No camera tricks, no lip-synching, no gimmicks, no dancers.
I really wish there was more variety in the musical guests on SNL. It's really been narrowed down to pop and hip-hop recently. So while I don't dig country either, at least it was something different. And JJ Watt was actually a pretty decent actor for an athlete.

I came back to SNL for the first time in a couple years as a big fan of JJ Watt the human being. My expectations were fairly low, and it's not that he didn't try really hard, but he hasn't got much in the way of comic timing and the material was very predictable and weak. The only thing I found remotely funny was the pizza sketch at the end. The rest of the show was immediately forgettable.

That was a bad episode. Watt was terrible and had zero charisma and Combs's music was hilariously bad.

Kind of surprised that they all but said the Lindsey Graham is gay. I mean for years it has been talked about and there is nothing wrong with being gay but the fact that Graham is firmly in the closet makes it kind of sad.
Then last night the Late Show also referred to Graham as being gay. It's just a matter of time before one of his past lovers outs him.

Cecily Strong will get her own show on Apple TV
Could that signal the end of her SNL career?

Could that signal the end of her SNL career?
The creators of "Despicable Me" are reportedly close to signing a deal with Apple TV+ to produce a musical comedy starring "Saturday Night Live" regular Cecily Strong.
Apple TV+ is reportedly about to add musical comedy to its slate, if industry sources are correct that it will sign Cecily Strong to an as-yet-untitled new series.
The unnamed show is created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, who are together best known for writing the three "Despicable Me" films.
According to Variety, the comedy will be set in a magical town called Schmigadoon. A couple hope their backpacking vacation will bring them closer together, but instead traps them in this town where everyone behaves as if they;'re in a 1940s movie musical. The only way to get out of the town is to find true love.
There's no more indication of cast, but star as well as being best known for "Saturday Night Live," Cecily Strong has appeared in films such as the 2016 version of "Ghostbusters," plus television comedies including "Superstore."
Strong will also be a producer on the series, while Cinco Paul will be the showrunner. The series is backed by executive producers including Lorne Michaels, who has famously created "SNL."

Sodomy — referred to in state law as “buggery, whether with mankind or with beast” — remains a felony in South Carolina, punishable by five years in prison and a fine of at least $500. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled anti-sodomy laws unconstitutional in 2003.
So it seems pretty likely that Graham is a felon many times over, in addition to just being a POS.

Not sure why that article mentioned that she had been on one episode of Superstore.

He is from South Carolina, and if he is gay, and has ever been sexually active in his home state, then he has committed a felony.
Not sure how that observation is homophobic.
I'll cop to hating Lindsey Graham, but for just about every other thing about him EXCEPT for the fact that he might be gay.
Edited to add: In case it is not clear, politicians committing or not committing crimes has been in the news a lot lately.

I'm actually with Perry on this.
Saying SNL played on the speculation that Graham is closeted is apropos for the thread
Saying Graham may have committed multiple felonies due to South Carolina sodomy laws has nothing to do with the SNL depiction.

But, as the senator believes donald trump to be above the law, I am certain that he would not see any "buggery" laws applying to himself.

Police in states where the anti-sodomy laws are still on the books can use that as an excuse to harass and arrest gay men, even entrapping them, if they choose.

As my earlier post shows, sodomy was still on the books as a felony in SC as of 2016, so any person engaging in "buggery" could still be arrested and charged with committing a felony under the existing statute, but the case would be thrown out once it got to court per the Supreme Court decision, although knowing the outcome in advance would keep the DA from pressing the charges..
