"I even started to believe that crap." . Great concept - my area would be ripe for a casual-fast sushi franchise like that. Christ, people pay $10 for a salad here.

Bea Arthur.

Nice to see the InvisiRack guy doing well. It was a good product and he could have made a Shark deal, but was dead set on manufacturing in the US.

The smart wheel kids should have applied for a government grant if they have the big gov't wheels behind them.

Smart wheel would need to be developed/integrated into fleet vehicles by the kids/car companies and then government can buy the fleet vehicles and remind the kids/car companies that they didn't build that.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

The sushi concept seems like the sushi version of Chipotle. I can see why it's succeeding. I just wish they had asked the brothers why they need to sell a chunk of their business and what they want to do with the money.

The smart wheel seems like it's got a ton of potential -- not just for parents, but for pretty much any business that employs drivers. I can see lots of companies wanting to equip their fleets with it to reduce the risk of bad drivers causing lawsuits. And I can see insurance companies really getting behind it.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

Smart wheel fell flat for me because usually the best pitch is saved for the end, and the sushi guys were one of the best pitches of the entire season. It's so much more exciting to see people who know what they are doing haggle for a deal over people who are on primarily because they DON'T know what they are doing. It was pretty cool to see Kevin finally make a huge deal with someone on his own, although I bet they could have gotten him down to 18%.

It seems to be "smart wheel" would be better as a warning light in the dashboard much like the sound that goes off if you don't buckle up.

The sushi chain clearly had the most realistic chance of business success from the episode. Mr. Wonderful only ever offers money to sure things.

The smart wheel was a feel-good charity case. Those guys basically just threw away $100,000 because it was cute kids pitching the idea. An adult pitching that idea would have been dismissed within a minute.

I agree. I thought they should have come back into the room and said, "OK, Mr. Wonderful, if you'll go to 18%, you have a deal." He'd have done it.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

I'm usually quite entertained by Kevin, but he was a total dick to the jeans girls tonight. She was already fighting tears as it was, and all he had to do was say he was out, but stomping on their business by saying they had zero chance was completely unnecessary.

I thought Damon's idea of sending freebies to celebs who might want to partner was actually a really smart idea. Who knows, maybe a celeb was watching tonight.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

All these products sucked tonight. But maybe I'm not hip with the wood sunglasses (and I'm definitely not in the market for high end girls bed ensembles).

The jeans girls deserved it. That's one reason why I love Kevin - someone needs to be brutally honest with some of these people. They're not going anywhere.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

I could see the camoflage thing being a hit. Hunters and rednecks go nuts for that shit, and if they actually did build a better mousetrap, then it could be really huge. But they were nuts to only offer 5% stake for $90000.

The girls with the jeans... when they said they only sold 300 pairs of jeans that cost $68 to make and wholesaled for $80, I knew they'd get eaten alive. Kevin was kind of a dick to them, but he wasn't wrong. They needed a hard dose of reality and need to reevaluate their business plan before they fall into a hole they can't get out of.

I was shocked that the guys with the wood glasses had sales of $430,000. I thought they looked really stupid and I agree with Damon that it's something that probably isn't going to be sustainable long term.

I thought the glasses looked terrible on all the sharks.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

I loved the prescription glasses (without lenses, I assume) that they gave Robert. I could see myself wearing them. Never been into sunglasses (I have astigmatism and can't wear lenses that are too round).

Also, ever try on glasses? There's always that one or two pair that actually look good on any given person. Something that looks good on one person looks bad on another.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

I thought Robert's looked really good too, but it also looked nothing like wood either, which sort of defeated the point. I think they were definitely something people would buy once just for the novelty, but probably not a second pair.

I thought the camo idea was really good. Their valuation was crazy. That's really been the Achilles' heel this season. Everyone wants to value their company on what they "might" make, when realistically, if they were actually going to make that, they'd have no need to be on Shark Tank.

Re: "Shark Tank" (ABC) - Series Thread

Some people are looking for publicity for their product or company, instead of really wanting to work with any of the sharks. The television show provides more exposure than most of these products would ever get with a million-dollar ad buy. Whenever a company insanely overvalues their worth on the show, that is usually the reason.

I agree. And it's a great way to advertise 'against' DVRs. Just like how they that one company blatantly had the Sharks using some smart phone.

Mark Cuban was on reddit a while ago and agreed the TMobile (I think it was) in-show advertisements were horrible. He said they won't be doing them again.

Daymond took advantage of the last woman with the changeable heels 70 % is a lot but she was desperate. They had at least two other changeable footwear who got deals previously i.e. Kevin gave 500 k to that onesole company. I hope that tattoo remover business gets an update .... Pretty cool concept.

Good to know that "FDA approved" doesn't mean much.

It was? I hadn't seen it before and I'm pretty sure I've seen every one. And I have my DVR set to record first-run, and it caught it.

Looks like you're right. ABC.com had it listed as a rerun yesterday, and I was thinking it was those balance wristbands from earlier this season that he flipped on as well.
