Really great episode, though.

Seeing as how the finale of Scrubs last season WAS in HD, this might be the only one left

Great episode. It feels like things are really getting started now with school in session.

One clarification : Why is Rawls so against the wire case? I'd say it's because he sees it as wasting time and wants Lester back in Homicide, but is there more to it than that?

Yeessirr in the epsisode you can see the fallout where the new head of the Dept was selected for this very reason to "squash" the wire and break up the group.....Lester knew that he was casuing trouble when they filed the suponeas and was warned that it could cause major trouble...so The Mayor talked to the Comissioner who talked to Rawles who handed down the "punishment" for getting the suponeas out......It wont last it will be interesting to see how they get everyone back together again, even if they are in different departments all assigned to the same case......

Ah yes...the subpoenas seemed to have slipped my mind. How could I have forgotten about that?

Thanks for the clarification and the memory jog!

Wow. The whole "how are they going to bring the education/drug storylines together" got answered nicely in this one.

I've always chalked it up to budget. The series has survived this long because it's comparatively cheap to produce. Shooting it in HD would just add to the expenses, and since it's more dialogue-heavy than balls-to-the-wall action, they probably figure why bother.

And is anyone able to make an MP3 of that "sheeeeeeeeet" line?

Will Prezbo ever get control of his class? It looks like what made him a bad patrol cop is making him a bad teacher.

A few warning shots should do the trick...

That was answered in the two half hour specials that ran prior to the season.

The stash house just throwing the goods out the window to him without him even asking was great. I don't think he wanted them either I think he was just stopping to light up.

This show is amazing. I mean we already know the stories are great and the acting is great, but how many shows can make a lone gay man in Omar and a petite street girl in Snoop be two of the most feared people on the street. So cool.

Omar is great, but it does seem like he is a bit of a superhero though. I never understood why no one could take him out. Especially now that he is without a full crew. Hard to find, sure. Impossible though? But it's not like I want him off of the show though so I don't really care.

The first special talks about the new season and has various interviews with the cast, including the kids this season is focused on. Warning though, they do show some lots of scenes from season 4, including a huge spoiler relating to one of the main characters. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, wish I knew they were going to show that, I would have waited til the end of the season to see that.

The second special talked about the development of the show and includes interviews with some of the cast and the producer and writer. Also talks about the city of Baltimore in general.

They were great specials. Showed how some of the actors are ex-Baltimore drug dealers, etc. that the one writer/producer busted when he was in the police. They showed how the language is so different and unique just to Baltimore. They had interviews with a past mayor of Baltimore (also an actor on the show briefly, and the one who thought about legalizing drugs), several current city counsel members, etc. They go into how most of the police characters are based off real people, and that "Bunk" was very well known by everyone.

They also show a lot of interviews with people in the schools. Someone that was a cop in real life did become a teacher (I forget who), and did incredible things. That is what gave away how Prez will handle it....
Spoiler:
He seperated the kids into "stoop" kids and "corner" kids. Stoop kids are those kids that sit on their front stoop and stay out of trouble, while corner kids tend to go out and get in trouble. By splitting the groups, they were able to actually teach the stoop kids because they would sit and generally do what they were told.

I don't remember the specials giving much away, but there were a lot of scenes from the 4th season.
