I thought it was a great episode. This may have been a slow episode, but this show is so great that a slow episode is still better than most tripe on the tv.

$12 a month w/ 4 episodes per month = $3 per episode

Watched the season premire. I liked it. It didn't seem slow to me. Although it's like previous "Wire" openings introducing characters and getting the pieces in place.

I foresee a Snoop&Chris versus Omar showdown at some point.

One question about the episode:
Spoiler:
Was any reason explained for the first guy Chris and Snoop killed?

And to show how Marlo is keeping his hands "clean" from Five-0 while regulating.

I can not wait for Snoop to go down. I hated her last season, and it looks like I will be subjected to her more this season.

It had finally showed up on mine by Wed morning. SO I got to watch it, but waiting two days for it to show up was pure torture.

Yeah that is what it was, I watched the wholes series over the summer, under the wire re-up that I didn't even think about checking for just a wire listing on the 2nd page.

Good start, to the season.

After watching this first episode, I'm definitely waiting for the dvds, just so I can use the subtitles to understand what the hell half the characters are saying - they're speaking English, right?

You do realize that buy waiting for the DVD's, you people are ruining the chances of these shows continuing to the point where there will be any more dvds

meh.
At least with The Wire I know there won't be a cliff-hanger when the season ends.

Pretty good episode. Great way to start up a new season though a little heavy on politics in comparision to the Wire and Marlow though I imagine like always a proper balance will be formed. I was watching with a bunch of people who hadn't seen the show before but were interested in the series so I may have missed a detail or two while explaining. The only negative I found was the opening credits, bring back the old song (even the remix that opened Season 3).

There's been a different version of "Way Down In The Hole" each season; that's kind of the point...

Great episode this year. Most/all of the reviews out there for this season point to it being stellar.

Yeah but I agree this season's version sucks.

I just watched the second episode of the season and it was great. The Wire is now back. And
Spoiler:
it looks like my man Omar will be back next week. Also I was surprised to see who Namen's father was. I foresee a battle between Marlo and Namen's boy who is boxing now.

or closed captioning works too. (even growing up in baltimore county, some people do indeed talk like that.)
Did anyone else think that the guy who is running for mayor kind of was supposed to be like Martin O'Malley the current baltimore city mayor?

I had to look up to see who Namond's dad was, I wonder if we will see his dad this season.

A great intro to the new season. I love the new version of the theme song.

Spoiler:
Randy also seems to be related to Cheese. Seeing as they are both from the Eastside and they have the same last name(Wagstaff).

Yes, for this season EVERY episode will be on OnDemand the week BEFORE it airs on "regular" HBO... when it gets upped is up the the provider, I know Cox in my area ups HB on time so I get the episode that monday when it is 1st available its a YMMV thing though better check with your provider for more details...
