I love the meetings were Bodie and Stringer have their little back and forth. I can't remember it exactly but it was something like:
Stringer:Have you caught up to Marlo yet?
Bodie: No.
Stringer: Why not?
Bodie: Can't find him.
Stringer:Why aren't you out lookin for that ni**ga now?
Bodie: Cause you called this meeting!

Another good scene was in season premiere i think when the Major Colvin asked the 2 officers to point north and one pointed up!

I loved the meeting after the movie between the cops and Stringers boys. Too funny. It reminds me of when my wife who is a Teacher runs into her students outside of school.

I love that resigned/frustrated look Bodie always seems to have on his face when he deals with Stringer.
I also really loved Poot getting the best of Herc and Carver in the alley. "I've heard this all before. 'Oh, no! You ain't never seen shit like this before!'..."
I still find it slightly strange (yet oddly natural) to see Erik Todd Dellums playing the ME and not smooth Luther Mahoney.

And the question is?

Maybe what the significance of showing the red cloth on the ground was?

The guys who won (the ones managing "Bait"
) were putting some sort of liquid or malleable substance in the cloth and having the dog sniff it. I would assume we'll find out what that was, and why it would give the dog any competitive advantage, in the near future.

Ben not that the thought isn't appreciated, but why do you keep using spoilers when everyone around you is spoilin' it up? I think it's safe to drop the tags. This sure was a busy episode. I have a bad feeling that this might be the end of Stringer, which would such as he's one of my favorite characters on the show. Hopefully I'm wrong.
I really enjoy Omar's character, but does anyone else think this weeks gag was just a bit much? It totally pulled me out of the episode. Omar in general makes my head hurt because I don't understand why some young buck just can't get at dude. He's one man, with a crew of three. Three!!! That's it. Every other crew is like 15-30 deep, yet they're all scared of Omar? Sorry not buying.
I like how the actor who plays Marlo underplays everything. That character has my interest peaked.
So glad to be away from the docks this season.

I kinda miss the dock. I missed the first season, were they at the dock then?

I was thinking back to the union stuff when I was watching this episode as well. I kinda missed it. I am finding it hard to keep up with all of the characters that are around now.

"Dead Soldiers"
"The gods will not save you." - Burrell
One of the best shows on tv and no thread started?
Good episode, I wonder how long it will take them to figure out the innocent victim was not so innocent. And did Bunk not hear the kids playing saying it is my turn to be Omar? Why did he not talk to them. I want to see Colvin's plan go into action.
Try this again with a date.

Ditto on Colvin's plan.
Outside of a totalitarian state of some sort, has there ever been a more nightmarish boss, anywhere, than Rawls?
"At least McNulty's here in spirit..."
Is it just me, or does the Ed Norton-ish Councilman have rather bad judgement in the carnal department? I can't imagine that isn't going to bite him on his ass (which we know all about, now) sometime later.

Another great episode...but it's pretty much epxpected
Although, it seems every season there has to be at least 1 annoying character, with Carcetti being the annoying one this time. I don't know why, but his character's mannerisms rub me the wrong way (however, nobody can EVER top Ziggy for bieng the most annoying character on the show).
Hopefully Rawls gets what's coming to him later on in the season, with McNulty being the instigator

Another good episode this week. That councilman is going to be in over his head before he knows it. I like that we're getting intoduced to the new gang that took the bats to Barksdale's people. I enjoyed the drug aspect of the show more than the docks, so it's good to see them focus on that more again this year.

I believe it was the dude who walked up while Bunk and Mcnulty were talking. He told McNulty not to get up. So yeah he was in the first two seasons. Just didnt have a real big part.

On Yahoo TV listings, the cast list for 'Dead Soldiers" includes Paul Ben-Victor, who played Spiros Vondas in the last season. Anybody think that maybe we'll see the Greek and Vondas return sometime later in the season? Doesn't seem entirely far-fetched, since they were in cahoots with Prop Joe.

I wouldn't completely scratch that idea. As far as I could tell, they wanted to go away until the heat died down. Maybe they might not operate out of Baltimore, but they could be back working behind the scenes. There was too much cash for coming in for them to completely leave the docks. But then again, the Greek is a smart lil guy, so who knows.
BTW, not that it makes a difference, but did anyone get the feeling that Vondas might have been a homosexual?
