I saw the first season and missed last season. Why is Prez a teacher now? Did he quit the force, get fired or what?

Thanks

He quit after he shot and killed a cop on accident during a call for assistance.

I think Slim Charles if part of the group that Prop Joe wants Marlo to be a part of. I don't think Slim Charles would have told Chris about Prop Joe knowing about Omar taking down the card game if he was working for him.
I'm pretty sure Joe had Slim tell Chris about his knowledge of the stick-up. because when Marlo brings it up at their sit down Joe admits to knowing it was going down.

Season 3 was a very important season for The Wire. Why not watch that one first?

The Wire - "Margin of Error" - 10/15/06 (and on Demand)

"Margin of Error"
Spoiler:
With Election Day approaching, the three mayoral candidates make last-minute appeals. Carcetti wrangles for votes as he responds to a potentially devastating smear. Norris and Greggs get a lead on the Braddock case, but end up being detoured. Following through on a promising video lead, Herc finds out just how elusive Marlo can be. With De'Londa's well running dry, Namond is asked to step into his father's shoes. Omar is fingered for murder, but McNulty and Bunk suspect a frame. At school, Colvin's special class gets its first enlistees; Prez solves Dukie's wardrobe woes; and Randy is called out on a serious transgression, forcing him to confess to another one. Cutty figures out why Spider, and Michael, might have been avoiding him. On Election Day, Carcetti is miffed when he learns that State Senator Clay Davis has been double dipping; later, he contemplates breaking some old habits for the good of his career.

My thoughts
Spoiler:
Some big happenings with Carcetti winning the primary and Randy telling Carver about Lex.

One of the questions I had was at least answered in this episode which was how Wee-bay's family kept getting paid now that the Barksdales' were done.

Herc gets punked by Marlo

Clay Davis graced us with another shieeeeeeeeeeet

This episode seemed 'off' like someone completly new was writing the show.

I had the same feeling. I think part of it was because it so heavy on the politics in this ep and Carcetti has no charisma.

I thought this was a great episode. I loved the scene with Omar ready to throw down. How long before McNutty gets him cleared?

I figure this would be one thing that would get McNulty out of his "retirement", if only for a moment.

Omars regrets for having robbed all these boys was funny.

"baltimores finest" and his 30 second stop.

"dice games" were all funny

You really get a sense of just how many people are gunning for Omar. If he does get out, I wonder if the brushback he'll want to put on Marlo is what gets him killed. The Wire is far too unforgiven for Omar to make it out of this series alive.

I genuinely felt glad for Carcetti in this episode. I like how he really wants to make the city a better place, but I have this sinking feeling that things aren't going to turn out the way he wants.

My wife and I both commented about how fugly she is. A world of difference between the blonde that Carcetti mentally banged on the street vs. her ugly mug. Sorry but she's not attractive in the least.

Yes she is.

For those who don't know, the entire season was leaked on the internet.

Definitely hot.

What do you mean about the season being leaked? Synopsises of all the episodes, or the actual episodes themselves?

Screener/review dvds of the full season were sent to reviewers prior to the premiere, so I would imagine one of these sets fell into the "wrong" hands.

Yeah, they are all out there, but I think that I will just watch them as they air.

This was a good episode, but an expected one. We knew that Carcetti would win, given all of his screen time. I love how this show changes things up every season.
