Walon is a recovering drug addict who Bubbles and Johnny see speaking at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. They see Walon again in the projects trying to get his nephew to give up drugs. Bubbles' conversations with Walon help him realise that he wants to get clean. When he makes a serious attempt, Walon gives him advice on keeping clean, which Bubbles is unable to stick with. Years later, when Bubbles is locked in a medical rehab facility, Walon visits him to again help him with his sobriety and grief.
Walon is played by singer/songwriter and recovering heroin addict Steve Earle.

Can't Wait!!!
At some point doesn't Omar have to get killed. The fact that he's lived this long is kind of hard to believe.
Still disappointed that we lost Bodie last year. Of course, that served as the impetus to get McNulty on the task force, and more McNulty is a always a good thing (though to be fair season 4 worked perfectly fine w/o him in a lead role.). Maybe Bodie's death will give Poot a bigger part.
Since the schools won't be the focus I wonder how they'll work Prez in this year. And hopefully Carver has found a way to help Randy out. Herc really screwed the pooch on that. It's funny how they started out as basically equals but Bunny's influence has made Carver a better man.
Really looking forward to it, but I'm sure the end will be bittersweet. Much more than the Sopranos which really had run it's course before it actually ended.

This show will single-handedly get me through the writers' strike. If this season is as good as it looks, this will be the one show I can think of that literally had a "perfect" run of television. Screw the award shows - best show on television, hands down.

I stumbled across some Wire prequels on Amazon, never heard of these before, and Google yields no results. Young Prop Joe was awesome, I saw it twice.

Those are great, thanks a lot. Bunk and McNulty meeting, and Omar starting out were great to see. He had that scar even when he was that young, I really wanna know how he got it.

Thanks! Those were great. I will truly miss this show when S5 comes to a close. It really is one of the best shows around. Cheers.

I can't wait either. I think HBO is putting season 4 on demand soon, so I may cycle through some of those episodes as I don't recall all of the events correctly.
Thanks for the links!!

With season 3 that would be very easy to do.

I just finished Season 4 after a marathon viewing tonight. By far the best season, in my opinion. There were some scenes that I was literally afraid to see how they were going to be played out. This show just grabs you and doesn't let go.
The fact that this show has been consistently ignored from the award shows is guilty of more crimes then Chris & Snoop combined. But whatever, it's still the BEST show on
television, period.

From what I heard, this will be the season 5 version of "Way Down In The Hole", performed by Steve Earle
