I never thought of the russian in that way at all, he is too serious to be out sleeping around.
Also count me in as someone who loves to see Happy Charlotte.

I thought just the opposite. The last 2 episodes were lousy IMO - so depressing. This one was very funny.

Great episode. Things are wrapping up quickly. I never expected one of the four women to move out of the country. Samantha looked like hell tonight. The hat/scarf when eating lunch. That June Cleaver wig she wore while shopping with Carrie. Also, did Charlotte's dog get pregnant and have puppies in record time or what? Nice writing at the end of the show.

The Russian asked Carrie to move to Paris with him. Permanently. She said yes. Quit her job and everything. Miranda is very very upset. I can see this making for some emotional scenes the last two episodes. These two have always been the closest.

Charlotte noticed that her dog has gained 4 pounds (50% of her normal weight) and finds out the dog is preggers, and this sends Charlotte back into a frenzied fit of "everyone but her gets preggers" mindset. But once the puppies are born, she regains her sanity and falls in love with each and every one of them.
Carrie's boss (Candace Bergen) hosts a party and asks Carrie if the Russian knows anyone who can be a date for her, and Carrie brings her Wallace Shawn, who isn't what she was wanting, and she starts hitting on the Russian until Carrie tells her to back off. Then Candace goes on about how men can have anyone at any age, but as women get older, they get left behind in social circles if they are single.
At the party, Lexi (Kristen Johnson) is single and loud and wants to smoke, so she goes next to the window and when people complain about her smoking, she goes on a rant about how New York isn't fun anymore and how the non-smoking attitude isn't helping things, but she trips on her Manolo and falls out of the window to her death.
It's at Lexi's funeral that Miranda and Carrie have it out once Carrie tells Miranda that she's going to go with the Russian to Paris, and that she quit her job, and Miranda goes ballistic on Carrie, and gets across the point that Carrie is simply living to be a part of the Russian's life, not her life (in New York).
Sam spends the episode where ludicrous wigs and detailing her adventures with sexual aids and batteries.

Yeah...more of a "post view" with scenes from all of the seasons.
At least now we know how the show's gonna end. I was still wondering if BIG would show up and carry Carrie off, but I guess the deleted voice mail was the ending to that chapter.

Good to see the Grand Nagus in this episode.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about where the show is heading. Granted, I haven't seen the final episodes so I dont' know how everything will end but it seems that for five + years the show has been telling women: you have your job, your friends, your life, and if a man comes along that's cool but not required. Now it seems to be saying screw the job, the friends, the life as long as you have the man everything else is expendable. Maybe it has to do with the lack of chemistry between the two actors but is Carrie really going to drop everything for this guy?

Miranda and Steve's engagement and marriage seemed to happen in record time as well. Not a great episode. Ending the series on a whimper instead of a bang so far.

Wow, almost 2:00 a.m. EST and still no "SATC" thread!? Anyway, really good episode tonight. Although, I feel the series wrap up is rushed. I didn't expect the goodbye dinner at the beginning of this episode. And I thought that would last longer than 2 minutes. Also, no send offs for Carrie? No one went to the airport with her or anything? Odd. Anyway, again, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. And everyone knows at this point how it's going to end next week

I agree with only that last sentence. I thought it was a dull, humorless episode that totally lacked focus or structure. I'm hoping for a much better finale because I was really unimpressed tonight.

Carrie's blowup on Big was just scathing and uncomfortable to watch. Was is deserved, probably, but it sure doesn't make Carrie all that sympathetic going into the series finale next week.
The Paris scenes go from the ecstasy to the agony as Carrie's homesickness overtakes her.
Sam's speech and hot flashes were amusing.
And damn, the show ran over, so I had to scramble and watch the final 2 minutes "live" (with no context as to what was happening as I was recording it on my ReplayTV). Grr...

Decent episode last night. I still enjoyed it even though there was very little humor - honestly, I haven't found this show ever to be all that funny...just engaging.

I'm not a big fan of the series, and I haven't watched it faithfully over the years. If this episode - which by all logic would be one of the ones getting special creative attention - is typical, then I think I've saved myself a lot of time during the past 7 seasons.
