I thought Diane didn't look that great this ep., but it is also the only ep. I have seen all season, so maybe she always looked that way. While I know it was chemo that caused her to lose her hair, she looked too much like Sharon Stone, who looks and acts like a psycho bitch more oftehn than not.

From: A little bit here and a little bit there.
too much frosting and predictability in the final episode.
What the russian wouldn't commit enough to carrie? what a shocker.
Mr. Big shows up at just the right moment and finally commits to a real relationship. Big surprise.
Carrie's return to new york, fully elated and feeling like her old self. Who would have thought.
If anything the show was great in the final episiodes in showing that samantha, charlotte and miranda finding different paths for themselves and learning to adapt and find happiness in them. They actually were the best about the finale.

Predictable, yes. But satisfying nonetheless. I enjoyed it. Still I wish I could have made it through the final episode without seeing Kim Cattrell nekkid again. I had thought that the breast cancer angle would have finally put an end to her gratuitous nude scenes, but apparently not.
The one story line I really liked was Miranda's. She used to be a cold-hearted bitter bitch; she's completely changed and I totally bought it.

Was it a predictable finale, of course but I don't think I would have ended it any other way. As I've mentioned in previous threads I would have screamed if Carrie stayed with the artist, it would have been a ocmplete reversal of the show's major themes. I was extremely happy to learn Mr. Big's real name finally and happy that all the characters were content.

I liked Big's entrance. I believe Carrie was bending over for a condom when she first met Big and she was bending over looking for the diamonds when he came in.

I really liked Charlotte's arc in ending up with him. Her first husband, Trey, was everything Charlotte wanted-- on paper. But he turned out to be a disaster. Harry was someone at first she was not even attracted to or considered being serious about, but he won her over and he ended up being the right guy for her. I think that is so true-- often women overlook the good guys by chasing after the guys they think are perfect. But the "perfect" guys usually are not, and the real gems are the ones who don't leap out at first as being perfect.
Usually when women complain there are no no good guys out there, it's because they are overlooking them.

What WAS shocking was Carrie's inability to see that Petrofsky commanded her attention when he wanted it. She presents herself to his ex-wife as a writer when she has deliberately left her laptop back in NY. In this episode, you can see that she had all the signs in front of her but misread them because she thought it was because of his upcoming show. THAT IS WHO HE WAS ALL THE TIME! He didn't support her writing one wit except to present her as such in social situatoins. An obvious mistake like that was the only thing that could have slingshoted her back to Big - who was now a known commodity who loves NYC as much as her and admits he loves her as much as she loves him.
What I am curious to know is what the other two endings were! I watched the episode twice and couldn't decide where the ending would have switched to one or the other. I'm guessing it happens after Big drives past Carrie looking for a taxi? I hope they include the alternate endings on the DVD!
I thought the "abso-fuckin'-lutely line" was a great touch as it harkens back to Carrie's first stoop exchange with Big. Very cool.

I am happy most for Sam. Smith is perfect for her.
Also anyone notice that Charlotte's puppies did not really look like King Charles Puppies. More like Jack Russell, or Parson Russell terriers as they are now officially known

Maybe one of the alternate endings has Big punching out Aleksandr after all.

It was a decent finale. I liked Miranda's story the best, even though if the show kept going there is no way Steve's mother continues to live with them for very long. They can't handle her and a baby. But it was a great way to prove to herself that she loved Steve.
It's funny that this show was all over the local news. Sunday morning my NBC affiliate mentioned it and said there is a rumor that they are considering a follow up movie. Then Monday morning my Fox affiliate spoiled the ending for anybody who hadn't watched it yet. Why is this news?

I am sure when the Friends season-ender is close to airing it will be an even bigger news story.

Not suprising since Elizabeth Taylor was gang-banged in the dog park while having her period after a dog show in episode 91 "The Cold War". Harry and Charlotte had no idea what mixed breed the puppies would be. (Obviously intentional as Charlotte immediately falls in love with the pups, showing that the race/breed didn't matter, they were hers... same as the baby they are getting.)

Good Morning America had 4 of their female "regulars" talk about the show this morning, and showed the results of a poll of what people wanted for the ending for Carrie (Big won in a landslide).
They even ran the series resolution on the ticker tape for news blurbs as well.

Uh...dude, can you say that in these forums now?
Sorry about not really knowing the name of Kim Cattral's character, I am still only a casual viewer. Or was.
Last night's ep. really made me see the women in a different light. Knowing that in the end they are nice people and not the big sexual predators common male myth makes them, I went out and rented the third season on DVD. Maybe they'll grow on me...or maybe I'll just get sickened by their antics and refuse to believe I even entertained the thought of liking them.

I thought the finale had a strong emotional punch - unfortunately due to the frequent use of tobacco products being inhaled, I will have to take three stars off of my rating, dropping it from four stars down to one.
Yes I know it's Paris, but the gorgeous Carole Bouquet ends up looking cheap smoking a cigarette. Then Carrie begins to smoke again. Finally she shares drags with that Russian, very distasteful, and I won't stand for it!
