Re: Today Show host Savannah Guthrie’s Mother abducted and whereabouts unknown.

Good question, do we have a clip of it? It hasn't been a topic of discussion over the past few days on The Five, which he's on and where I assume this would've been from.

re: The Mandalorian & Grogu (5/22/26, D: Favreau)

Putting Sam Elliott in the movie would've been money better spent. Atrocious ad in the worst ways - you didn't even communicate that it was a movie that was coming out! My parents were so...

Re: Today Show host Savannah Guthrie’s Mother abducted and whereabouts unknown.

They are just breaking that a 2nd message was received late this morning - same source as the first one though it still needs to be verified.

Re: Michael (2026, D: Fuqua) - Michael Jackson biopic

Say what you want about him as a person, but the marketing team has released two incredible trailers for this film. They've completely sold me on it, they've done their job.

Re: Catherine O'Hara (Home Alone, Beetlejuice) dead at 71

71 is young... maybe we get some details about it, maybe we don't, it's none of our business. But we've got a lot of icons well into their 70's (and beyond) now.

re: The Mandalorian & Grogu (5/22/26, D: Favreau)

I'd put the over/under of this film at 400m. (similar to the MCU's last year) The difference is the MCU has it's upcoming 'break glass in case of emergency' films to revive the brand. Not seeing...

Re: Sony Beatles Project (2028 D: Mendes) - 4 individual films

Photos look incredible, and I admire the hard push - but it still makes no sense from a business perspective. But we will see how it all turns out, could be genius.

re: The Mandalorian & Grogu (5/22/26, D: Favreau)

That's the issue, it looks like they didn't do anything different from the TV show, it was shot entirely on stages in CA - and it looks like it. You could argue it's the most soulless SW movie yet,...

Re: The Revenant (2015, D: Iñárritu) S: DiCaprio, Hardy

I loved this movie when it came out and I can't wait to see it again, just a work of art. And on an AMC IMAX screen, inject it into my veins.

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

He is, but here's my question - was it Mattel financing this film, and therefore having final say on a lot of creative decisions?(script, designs) You're in sports, I'm in games, but I feel you'd...

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

I would disagree in that there are a number of ways this film could be worse than the trailer, but you've certainly highlighted one of them.

Re: 98th Academy Awards (Oscars) - March 15, 2026

I've got some years to 50, but I do appreciate your post. Everyone here loves movies, we can be critical of films and the industry as a whole, but that doesn't mean we don't love movies - nothing...

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

There's been a lot of fair assessments here... I'm the prime audience for this film (mid 40's big He-Man fan) and I'm just not feeling it. The film will be lucky to gross 150m worldwide- but here's...

Re: 98th Academy Awards (Oscars) - March 15, 2026

It means I didn't think there were a lot of great, award worthy movies last year. So the good ones will be the ones to receive those awards this year.

Also, the Rotten Tomato scores do not reflect...

Re: 98th Academy Awards (Oscars) - March 15, 2026

Haven't seen Sentimental Value or Hamnet, but I think this just shows what an underwhelming year it was. The top nominated movies are there by default because there's no other clear cut great...

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

Not what I was hoping for, but it should be a fun movie - and it says on premium screens so I assume it'll be on Dolby.

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

Looks like they went with a Hulk Buster design, which is a shame. It's likely Mattel had a big say on script, casting and designs, so I'm assuming Travis Knight was likely just making the best of the...

Re: 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026, D: DaCosta) -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

3.5 As others have mentioned, this is less of a complete film but works very well as an immediate follow up - a third act essentially. (A single three hour film might've been incredible) They were...

Re: Masters of the Universe (2026, D: Knight)

I wonder if the intro is actually part of the film and it's a whole meta thing - not wild about it but as long as we're off Earth relatively soon it'll be fine. Costume designs seem hit and miss so...

Re: The General Star Wars Discussion Thread

I forgot I commented lol. But I absolutely hold Lucas accountable (as you noted) - he was done with Star Wars when it was decided to wrap things up with Return of the Jedi - and it's been terrible...

Re: The RIP (2026, D: Carnahan) — S: Damon, Affleck, Yeun, Adkins — Netflix Cop thriller

Yeah, not great but not bad either - pretty much exactly what you'd expect from all involved for a Netflix movie. Terrible final scene though, they are noticeably not on location...leaves a bad...

Re: Marty Supreme (2025: D: Josh Safdie) S: Timothée Chalamet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A'zion, Kevin O'Le

Just an incredibly odd movie. To spend so much time on these nothing subplots (the missing dog?) for so much time was more frustrating than the main characters own choices. And the Table Tennis...

Re: The Official Box Office Discussion Thread

If we're forgiving One Battle After Another for it being a prestige pic at it's budget, I think we can give Marty the same pass. Marty looks like it will actually make a profit when all is said and...
