Damn, wish I would have seen LA Confidential. I ended up getting Shaun of the Dead for ~ 14 bucks. They had a lot of discs but nothing that was even a mild deal after discount.

I think it's an ongoing point of contention for Kubrick's films; a lot of them were filmed (and correct me if I'm wrong, which is almost undoubtedly true) in full frame, then matted for widescreen...

Packaging is pretty cool. To open the tin, you pull the top off the gasoline can. Transfer seems less muddy than the old release, but I haven't done a side by side comparison or anything.

I really enjoyed the Weezer and Nine Inch Nails reissues. They are very well done and have a lot of good extras for fans. I don't think they are half-cocked at all :)
