New 2D SE of Reservoir Dogs out 10/06

From www.davis.dvd:

"Hard to believe, but it's been 15 years since the world met Quentin Tarantino. To mark the occasion, Lionsgate Home Entertainment has lined up Reservoir Dogs: 15th Anniversary Edition for release this October (the 24th, according to sources). The cult classic arrives as a new two-disc set with a limited collectible gasoline can packaging. This release will be supported by a line of newly licensed merchandise including T-shirts, stickers, posters, fine art, urban apparel, calendars and the first ever Reservoir Dogs video game. Stay tuned for more details, including cover art and bonus materials, to be announced soon. Also look for a Blu-ray Disc day-and-date."

Hopefully this will include a Tarantino commentary.

Ugh... I think I'll wait for the non-limited, non-collectible 'normal keepcase' edition.

"urban apparel".

Great, now wannabe-gangstas have something to wear other than their oversize Scarface T-shirts.

Even though it isn't Miramax, I hope it matches my Pulp and Jackie sets in box style (the non gasoline can packaging, of course).

And do you doubt for a minute that there won't be one? Why would they stop at triple-dip?

Glad I've waited this long. Sad, but true I haven't picked this up on DVD yet. I missed out on the special editions with the people on it (really wanted one of the weird ones like Mr Pink or Orange or even Tarentinos;the packaging would have sold me for this edition) and think that th class/family album is absolutely ugly and simply doesn't come with then enough (i.e. extras, etc.) compared the Pulp and Jackie Brown sets. Not to mention this goes without saying that nobody should have needed the film in a FS transfer and somehow a lot of dialogue mysteriously vanished from the 10th anniversary edition.

I really think that Lionsgate is one of the best film/DVD companies out there. I love their horror lineup.

Barring something spectacular with this re-release, I'll be holding onto my "Mr. Pink" Special Edition version.

Hey, it doesn't have to have the all time best horror, but as long as it is stuff I enjoy than I don't really care. Just for Cube it's worth it. American Psycho as well.

There was nothing missing from the 10th Anniversary Edition.

There was issues with the color being darker than normal, but that was it.

You couldn't possibly be more incorrect.

The problem with the transfer is that it's completely washed out, the opposite of being too dark. And yes, it is missing dialogue.

0:28:32 MR. WHITE: "I think he just passed out"
0:38:23 MR. BLONDE: "Joe"
0:51:33 MARVIN NASH: "I haven't been looking" MR. PINK "Shut the..." "

the "Tarantino" handle must be a reverse nickname... like calling a bald guy "curly".

I'd be interested to see what kind of fine art they release, not that I'd want to buy any.

The gasoline can just have a audio playback of the song.

Me too. I'll probably just wait until it gets a good quality high definition release before buying it again. Even if the packaging does look really cool...
