Ferrari (2023) D: Michael Mann

Great performance by Penelope Cruz, shame nothing else in the movie holds up to it. (01/11)
American Fiction (2023) D: Cord Jefferson

Enjoyed the family story more than the publishing "satire", which I found rather toothless. (01/14)
Monty Python’s The Meaning Of Life (1983) D: Terry Jones

Surprised how much I laughed, was expecting the movie to be a bit dated (or watched too many times in my youth). The garish visuals are spectacular. (01/21)
Poor Things (2023) D: Yorgos Lanthimos

Great performance by Emma Stone. As a fan of weird sci-fi and sex scenes, this was a movie delivered. (01/15)

Despite an effective final scene, everything before hand was the same dull cliches from a hundred other movies. It aped the style of an "elevated" horror film, but only on a surface level (photography, title cards), nothing of substance.

Very good comedy/drama about friendship between a woman her daughter's ex-boyfriend. Michaela Watkins is great. They should team her and Kathryn Hahn up in something. (04/02)

The "found footage" re-creation ultimately fails, but there is enough good stuff, particularly the ending. (04/04)

Almost a carbon-copy of Immaculate, but with gorgeous visuals, genuinely creepy moments. Shocked by how good this was. Shame it had to be tied into The Omen as if anyone really gives a shit. Really looking forward to the director's next film. I hope it'll be something more personal to them. (04/16)

Whimsical yet grounded in reality. Tilda Swinton plays the most interesting character I've seen all year. First movie this year I'd recommend to anyone. (04/23)
Alien (1979) D: Ridley Scott

You could argue ALIEN follows the same formula as a slasher movie, and you'd be correct, but the pacing, and the visuals elevate this into an experience that makes you feel the majesty of space and the reminder our ephemeral lives are but a blip in the vastness of time. A true classic, that is so perfect you could watch it anytime, anyplace.

There isn't a tremendous amount of participation in this thread - although I'll say this is my first time and I'm really enjoying myself! - and I'm curious how people handle repeat viewings. I Watched Renfield on my own, then later watched it with my family. I also liked it better the second time. Do you put both viewings on your list? Update your rating? We all get to do this our own way, but I'm curious. How do you usually handle your data?
