it is a damn shame that Crystal Skull wasnt better, or at least didn't introduce a better "Indy's Son". Still think Jensen Ackles would be great as Indy's kid, has the look, the comedic timing, the swagger... go on one more adventure as father and son ala the Last Crusade, and then pass the torch if it worked... or just end it.

Well...the theory may not be so far off:

It can't be underestimated how much change Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger has brought to the company. During his tenure at the mouse house, the company has acquired Pixar, Marvel, and of course, Lucasfilm, and turned the movie studio into one of the most powerful in Hollywood. So needless to say, he had a lot to talk about when he sat down with Bloomberg for a half-hour conversation. And while much of the conversation was on the potential of "Star Wars," the broader landscape of the company when it comes to television, theme parks, and more, there's one little nugget that stood out.
Chatting about the what's on the horizon for Lucasfilm properties, Iger talked about upcoming "Star Wars" sequels, adding, "and 'Indiana Jones,' by the way, which will be coming."
Earlier this year, a 2018 release date was rumored for a potential new "Indiana Jones" movie, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford have been pretty open about reuniting, and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has also suggested the whip will be cracked again.
For now, it seems something that's definitely being talked about in the halls of Disney, and hopefully more official word will arrive soon.

I've always had a suspicion that part of Ford's deal to come back and do Star Wars was a commitment to get going on a new Indy project. It was awfully coincidental how Disney acquired the distribution rights for Indy from Paramount right after it was announced that the original cast was returning to Star Wars.

DISNEY has scheduled INDIANA JONES 5 for release on July 19, 2019. Steven Spielberg will direct and Harrison Ford will star.

I have little faith it will be any good, I don't think I can watch them kill off Indy than turn it into a chick flick.

No Lucas involvement + near universal disappointment with IJ4 = a new hope for a decent flick.
Although quite honestly, I've only ever loved the first one, and Temple of Doom is IMO the only decent sequel.

So a 77-year-old Harrison Ford playing Indy? There's going to have to be some sort of batton-passing. I see on Wikipedia Indy was supposed to be 58 in Crystal Skull, so 69 here, set in the late 60s?
I hope they can get Leslie Jones as his replacement.

I still stand by this in regards to "passing the baton":

KotCS took place in 1957, with an approx. 19 year old Mutt. Fast forward 10 to 15 years, and you could cast Pratt as 30/35 year old version of him. And technically Indy has a daughter too. You could fast forward even further and cast a 16/18 year old daughter to throw into the mix. Though I don't remember how old she was on the show. But I just feel like an Indiana Jones adventure in the 1970s, really wouldn't feel like Indiana Jones.

He was able to pull off Han, recover from a broken leg quickly, but still gets blasted with the old Indy jokes.
