This movie won't be the same without the dissolve from the Paramount logo at the beginning of the movie. It'll be like a Star Wars movie without the 20th Century Fox fanfare at the beginning...oh, wait.

I hope they can get Leslie Jones as his replacement.
Indy in the late 1960's seems bad. Even if it was a 30 something year old version of Indy. Indy stories belong in the late 1930's-40's.

Three years really seems like its pushing things with Ford's age. I'll still see it but I wonder how much he's actually going to be able to do. I have to imagine he'll get a new sidekick that will take the reigns going forward and hopefully it works out better than the last attempt. I tend to agree that Indy stories set beyond the forties seems late and not ideally what I'd like to see but as long as the story is better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull I'll watch it.

They should bring in Tom Selleck to play Indiana's half brother Montana.

I loved "The Last Crusade". Thought it was almost as good as "Raiders". Almost. I had as much fun watching both. LOATHED "Temple of Doom". And I didn't hate "Crystal Skull" as much as most. It wasn't great by any stretch. But enjoyed it a hell of lot more than "Doom".

The original is the best but I really like Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade a lot too. I actually have always thought Temple of Doom is somewhat underrated personally. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull isn't very great at all. I don't completely hate it but it's on a totally different level than the first three in my opinion.

Maybe it's because I was a kid when I saw it, but Temple of Doom is a lot of fun.

Y'all are nuts. Temple of Doom is a steaming pile of crap. I still remember waiting for over 2 hours in line just to get a ticket to go see it and then coming out of the theater wondering what the Hell that was. Musical number? Sassy Chinese orphan? Freeing Indian slave kids? A quest for magic stones that aren't even recovered in the end? That was so NOT what I was expecting for a sequel/prequel/whatever to Raiders.

Well I didn't have any expectations, I saw it on TBS on a pleasant summer afternoon, and it was very entertaining. Hell, I probably saw it before Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Fixed. Please, please, please just James Bond this franchise and get it going again. No more Geriatric Jones, no sons, no daughters. Just give us a new actor and ... Well what movieguru says:

Raiders is a classic, Temple was a good/dark sequel, Crusade was Raiders 2.0, Crystal Skull was OK, and I can't see Indy 5 being any better?

I eagerly await 3 years of arguing over which is the best of 4 films.

Totally agree. Last Crusade was much better, IMO.

I used to think that after I saw Crusade the first time. But repeat viewings over the years it's definitely the other way around. Temple of Doom is darker and way more intense. And not one mention of "Junior".

Then again we get 20 seconds of non-stop Kate Capshaw screaming. And we get Kate Capshaw. So that's a strike against Temple. But other than that, I much more prefer Temple. I liked the exoticness and not knowing anything about the Shankara stones. I really didn't care for the Holy Grail story. Python owned that story, it should have been retired after that.

I actually love everything about Temple of Doom... except Capshaw. She nearly single-handedly ruins the entire film for me.

I think they should set the movie during the Cuban Missile Crisis, but I wonder if Spielberg MIGHT do another "prequel" - setting the events the year before "Crystal Skull" - then he doesn't have to deal with Marion, doesn't have to deal with Mutt, and could talk Connery into a cameo.

You might not get one mention of "Junior", but in addition to the obnoxious Kate Capshaw, you get that fucking annoying kid Short Round. "DOCTAH JONES! DOCTAH JONES!!!". Ugh.
