The Bourne Supremacy (2004) — Well done sequel that's not quite as good as Identity but still entertaining. Most of the movie was shot well however could've done without the shaky cam during the car chase scene at the end. Otherwise, solid movie through and through. ****/*****

The Boston Strangler (1968)- Despite the cast, I didn't find this particularly interesting. Apparently it's not all that accurate either.

The Expendables 2 - I've been watching Arnold movies on Friday after work for months. I know this isn't really an Arnold movie, but I wanted to watch a relatively recent one this week, and I'm running out of those. I think Hemsworth's character was named Dead Meat.

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) — Solid entry that should have been the conclusion to the Bourne character, instead Damon and Greengrass chased the dollar to return to "Jason Bourne" which I remember being underwhelmed by (will be revisiting it sometime during the week)
Still, some good chase and fight sequences though the great trailer line ("If you were in your office right now we'd be having this conversation face-to-face.") makes Bourne look like an arrogant a** because if he hadn't tipped off his location, he would've avoided the chase and made it to the E. 71st location having the element of surprise. In addition, the relationship between Bourne and Nicki (sp?) felt off.
Anyway, was entertained but probably rank this as the third best of the series (right now, going to revisit Legacy soon). ****/*****

Blockers - Watched half of this three weeks ago then I got tired and went to bed. It sat in my Vudu continue watching until tonight. Still enjoyed it, but watching it the way I did I can say the first half of the movie is funnier than the second half. When I saw it in the theaters it was during Kathryn Newton's omnipresent phase, but since the movie came out I've become a big fan of Viswanathan because of her work in Miracle Workers (her movie last month was just OK).

Black Rock - starring Lake Bell and Kate Bosworth. Three women, longtime friends, go on a camping trip to a small island (in the Northeast?). They meet three men who are on a hunting trip. Turns out they are not good guys, and things go downhill fast. So basically, this is one of those "crazy dudes stalk nice people in the woods" movies. As such, it's not a great entry in the genre. A lot of stupid decisions are made, and the bad guys are soooo inept it's ridiculous.

The 15:17 to Paris - A lot can be said about Eastwood's decision to use the real guys in this movie. They aren't actors, and it shows, and the movie suffers for it. Although, to be fair, I didn't think any of the professional actors distinguished themselves in this either. I also think that there really isn't a feature film here, at least as presented. The attack scene and aftermath starts around 70 minutes into the movie. Nothing that happens in that first 70 minutes is even remotely interesting, and, as stated, the acting is amateurish. I think I bought my digital copy of this for $1 at Family Video; I probably overpaid.

The Heartbreak Kid (2007) - I saw the Charles Grodin film years ago, but I had never gotten around to watching this version. When I started watching it about six weeks ago (tells you how urgent I was to finish), I found out it was a Farrelly Bros movie. If I had known that before it was information that I had forgotten. I've always liked Monaghan, and there are funny individual moments, but the whole thing felt like one trip too many for most of the returning players.

I watched The Delta Force last night on Prime video even though I own the Arrow BD. It's my favorite Chuck Norris/Cannon movie.
The version on Prime video does have an error though. It doesn't have the subtitles for the terrorists/Middle Eastern dialogue, which the BD does have. This was a problem on the earlier MGM DVD release.
The Delta Force theme by Alan Silvestri is such a kickass theme.

This was Godfather long but not as good though I like Hader, Chastain, and McAvoy.

Monsters University - Unnecessary prequel from the studio who seems to specialize in unnecessary prequels and sequels these days. It has it's moments so it is probably middle of the road for those films. I know Pixar sometimes likes to catch actors in voice roles before other studios. This is true...when I saw this movie back in 2013, I wished they had cast Aubrey Plaza as like the head of the Greek council because she was ascending, and I thought she could have really done something with a part that was kind of nothing in the movie. Then I noticed she actually did play that part, it was just that they didn't really give her anything to do. That was emblematic of some of the problems of this movie.

The Brides of Dracula (1960) — Entertaining but standard Hammer horror picture that has some good visuals and decent acting, however note entirely memorable. Peter Cushing is fine once again playing Van Helsing but the "Dracula" (Baron Meinster played by David Peel) was hardly intimidating and the damsel this go around (Yvonne Monlaur) is pretty but unremarkable. ***½/*****
The Bourne Legacy (2012) — Much more simplistic sequel though the action scenes were pretty good, but instead of trying to take down Treadstone/Blackbriar, the driving force is getting the virus injection before Aaron Cross's (Jeremy Renner) brain goes to mush. That's it. But I still liked it and features a nice cast which included Oscar Isaac in a minor role. ***¾/*****

I saw a movie on demand last night called "No Escape" not to be confused with the 2015 movie with the same title.
It stars Keegan Allen, who is probably best known from Pretty Little Liars.
It's a horror movie similar to Saw and Escape Room 2019. The dude who directed this movie also directed a low budget Indie horror movie in 2017 ironically called Escape Room.
If you like low budget horror, it's not an awful way to kill 88 minutes. The ending is pretty messed up.

The Great Waldo Pepper - This week's Redford re-teams him with Director George Roy Hill (Butch Cassidy, The Sting). While it doesn't quite measure up to those two films, I did really enjoy this. The aerial scenes are pretty top notch, and I loved the ending.

Like a lot of people here, I've started digging into my Friday the 13th set. The first two look very good (to me) and have a good supply of bonus features. I enjoyed my time with them. Perhaps because I've read so much negativity about the PQ of Part 3, it didn't look all that bad to me. The movie itself remains kind of awful, and killed my momentum for this weekend. Even the supplements are kind of weak for this one.
