Salvador - This is a movie from back in the time when James Woods wasn't just a lunatic but also a great actor. It was also Oliver Stone's breakthrough year as a director. As for the movie, it has greatness in it, but it's not the sum of it's parts.

Only Lovers Left Alive - I thought it was an at times beautiful film, but it's just so slow. It's difficult to imagine watching it again.

Back to the Future (1985) — Not sure how many times I've seen this (first time was on VHS ~1986 or 87 I think) but still an incredibly fun sci-fi comedy with Fox and Lloyd working perfectly off one another. Holds up so well each and every time I re-visit. ****½/*****

Most Shaw Bros. Horror films are bat-shit insane and this one is no different.

This was a bore
Guinness is great but he sounded like he still had his English accent in some parts.
The girl who played Eva Braun was gorgeous.
One of the rare times you did not cry when the main character died at the end

Sorry if that is a spoiler.

The Pawnbroker - I've never really thought much of Rod Steiger, but this movie has a good reputation, and Lumet has made some truly great films. Maybe the concentration camp material played differently in 1964, but it didn't really work for me. Also, the Quincy Jones score is obtrusive and belongs in a different movie.

Back to the Future, Part II (1989) — This was one I think I was slightly disappointed in when I first saw it in theaters back in '89 and even with subsequent viewings on VHS and DVD, however I've come to appreciate it more over the years post-2000s. Lots of fun though feels disjointed at times going back and forth in time from 1985 to 2015 to alternate 1985 and back to 1955. But I did like the technical aspects re-creating the events of the first movie. ****/*****
PS: Still remember back in the day seeing a TV special and believing the hoverboard was real, lol.

Being Charlie - Apparently Rob Reiner is still making movies; they just aren't very good. His son Nick co-wrote this semi-autobiographical story about his years of drug use and rehab and his relationship with his dad (played by Cary Elwes in the movie).

We've been watching Romero's Dead series, beginning with Night of (both 1968/1990 films), Dawn of (Theatrical Cut from Ultimate Edition), Day of (Divimax 2-disc), Land of (Unrated Director's Cut), we'll watch Diary of tonight and Survival of tomorrow night. I think we're going to watch Zack Snyder's Dawn of remake Friday night.

Deep Web XXX (2018)
Horror/Exploitation Anthology film released under Unearthed Films' Too Extreme For Mainstream banner.
Not the best Anthology film I've seen but Director Domiziano Cristopharo seems to be one of the few Directors in this Anthology of films that was actively pushing the limits of good taste, which I was expecting more of.
There are only about 2 films in the Anthology that earn the Too Extreme For Mainstream tag with the rest being a whole lot of boring & simulated BDSM.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen - I know I'm not the target audience for this, but I thought it was pretty terrible. Lohan was especially annoying. Also, considering how young Megan Fox looked here at 17 it makes the Bad Boys 2 story even creepier.

American Guinea Pig: The Song of Solomon (2017)
This film is sort of a dream-come-true in some ways, as it sees FX Artists Marcus Koch (100 Tears) & Jerami Cruise (August Underground) joining forces to fantastic results.
Their over-the-top FX work over-shadows the (thin) plot of the film but still leaves solid performances from Jessica Cameron, Jim Van Bebber & Gene Palubicki.

Thor: The Dark World - Next Marvel movie. This was the first time I had seen this movie since End Game. I was always too bored by the Macguffin to know it was an infinity stone so that was something new this time. Still it's a mess of a movie with a few fun moments. I am glad that Darcy will be returning in WandaVision though.

I've watched this film so many times that my nausea comes from the camera work rather than (fantastic) practical FX.

You can say I am crazy but this was the Godfather 2 or Empire Strikes Back equivalent of the trilogy where the sequel exceeded the original.
The only drawback was Fox dressing up as different characters.

lI iked it the first time but loved it the second or third time though it seemed like it was in standard def with inferior picture quality though it was on HBO Comedy HD.
Wish Giamatti would return to movies as the lead and do more stuff like this

Runaway Amazon Prime
Tom Selleck. Directed by Michael Chrichton. 1984
In the near future, Selleck is a cop assigned to cases involving malfunctioning service robots. Gene Simmons is sinister Electronics whiz who has using killer drones to take out his enemies.
I've always enjoyed this as a nice little "B" movie, and, as always Chrichton was ahead of the curve with some of his predictions ("smart" bullets, drones). It's still entertaining, and Gene Simmons is ridiculously sinister (though in a Fun way), but now it seems a lot "clunkier" than I remembered it. Chrichton definitely had a thing for high heels.

Would I be in a cult with Brit Marling? SIgn me up.
Hope she has more movies in the future since she has not done a lot of them recently.
Costance Wu in a small role too before she broke out in the 2010's.

Dirty Grandpa (Unrated) - This was the second terrible Robert De Niro "grandpa" movie I've seen this month. It's quite a career he's got going for himself these days.
