Mad Max: Fury Road. Real 3D. Unnecessary 3D.

It's apparently not a very good post convert and apparently mutes the phenomenal visuals in the movie.

Saw these via CinemaNow using some credits:

Wild Card (2015) -- S: Jason Statham. Decent cast, but forgettable Las Vegas crime/action thriller. I can understand why this had a really limited release and bombed. Grade= C

Wild (2014) -- S: Reese Witherspoon. Really good movie. Small cast and pretty simple plot about a young woman ,who went through tragedy and self destructive behavior, decides to pack up and hike 1,100+ miles up the Pacific Coast trail. Great cinematography and I enjoyed Witherspoon a lot here.

Grade= B+

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

somewhere in the script there was an interesting premise - but sadly it held no surprises or twists and was more of a parade of watching various dogs kicked around and killed (faked of course). This was produced by Wes Craven? oh come on you're better than this, needed the paycheck didn't you?

Side Effects - 4/5

With the release of her husband from prison, a woman starts suffering from depression. After a botched suicide attempt she is placed in the care of a psychiatrist who prescribes her a new drug. Once on the the drug she starts to experience side effects that may induce psychotic behavior. Well made Hitchcockian thriller from Steven Soderbergh.

The Seduction of Mimi - 3/5

Dark political comedy about a man who is blacklisted in Sicily by the local Mafiosi after voting for the communists in the local election. Unemployable, he leaves his wife and family behind in order to find work up north. While there he falls for a Communist sympathizer and comes to realize that the troubles he left behind have followed him. Good but a little too long, would have made a better 90 minute film.

Love and Anarchy - 4/5

After witnessing the murder of his anarchist friend who was planning to assassinate Benito Mussolini, a country peasant decides to join the cause and follow through with the plans of his dead friend. Lina Wertmuller's follow up to The Seduction of Mimi is a much more focused and serious film that covers some of the same political themes with a great performance from Giancarlo Giannini.

I'm eating my words here, saw Mad Max Fury Road yesterday ... in 3D .. and I thought Stereo D's conversion work actually was a blast, since a lot of stuff flies at your face.

All Screwed Up - 2.5/5

Multi character study about the daily struggles of a group of working class southern Italians who head up north in pursuit of better lives. Another political comedy from Lina Wertmuller that is a bit more unrestrained than her previous films and whose message comes across a bit heavy handed.

Whiplash (2014) -- Saw this last night via on demand on MGo. Used some credits from Viggle.

Damn, this movie rocked. Just amazing performances in a really simple movie. Was surprised by J.K. Simmons' intensity in this.

Noticed that the new Supergirl Melissa Benoist also had a small part in it too.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I watched Avenges: Age of Ultron in 3D.
It was less entertaining than the previous Avenger movie.
The 3D was unnecessary. Only 3-4 shots looked good in 3D, others were just plain.

I watched this movie in theater. When the movie finished, I was explaining the movie to my friends while coming out. Then the other confused people started gathering around me to hear the explanation. Soon I was surrounded with 20 people, listening to my lecture on Interstellar.

Never felt so proud. :P

It's funny, Nolan gets a lot of flack for over-explaining his movies (I agree) but when it comes right down to it, it still wasn't enough

Hey! Is Dee Dee Home? - 2.5/5

Depressing (sometimes funny) 1992 interview with punk rock legend Dee Dee Ramone in which he mostly speaks about his friendship and drug exploits with Johnny Thunders.

The Abandoned - 2.5/5

Creepy, atmospheric film about an orphaned woman who travels to Russia after inheriting some property that belonged to the parents she never knew. L
ots of potential with some good scares are let down by the weak script.
