I would be there for the midnight showing if Rip Taylor gets to dawn the cape though. Especially if the confetti is in 3d.
Uh...what? He's a Superhero....that's still around..very popularly as well. I think people still get Supes. I mean...he's the simplest of heroes in a way (I mean that in a good way). People like him.

Stallone should direct the next Superman movie. I'm not even sure if I'm joking.

I can't picture Stallone as Superman/Clark (though he certainly has the physique) but I bet he'd direct a badass Superman movie.

Re: Superman Returns Sequel is a GO!

Holy shit....Stallone directing Superman? It sounds insane (cuz...well it's fucking Rambo!) but...it could actually work. I mean...I dunno if he'd be a good writer for it (he can surprise us for sure...we don't give him a lot more credit I'll admit) maybe a co-writer but...as director....he could do it. Holy fuck...that'd be badass.

He's actually 5' 9½" but I get your point. I should have said musculature instead.

Hey, man. Stallone ain't done wrong by me since he ressurected himself from a slumping career only to fucking stand in an explosion of punching and shooting people. And......The Expendables will be perfect...PERFECT!

Imagine if Stallone included a sequence in War World?

*shaking violently*....oh...I could only imagine...I can't believe how much Sly makes me happy now. I'm an adult and I've been so happy for action movies since I was a kid...damn you, Sly. You had me to make my dream movie come true! *sobbing* I love you, The Expendables....

lol...

but seriously...I'd like to see what Sly could do to Supes. I mean..nobody's given him the chance to do something like this for sure. Also maybe he's never been keen on it either but....you know, he'd be VERY fresh blood in that genre. And...that could be good for Supes. Again..this is just us toying w/ the idea.

From where does that above photo of the lovely Carla Gugino originate?

If they want to go older, I think Ashley Judd or Kristen Davis would be a good choice.

Some modeling shoot I bet...I've honestly never seen her in any film beyond Sin City but I know of other films she's been in but...I dunno if it's from that.

I seriously fail to see how having directed a bunch of boxing movies and a Rambo flick (not to mention the disastrous Saturday Night Fever sequel) translates to being a natural pick to make a Superman movie.

Re: Superman Returns Sequel is a GO!

I'd like to see a movie where Superman gets realistic about how lousy people are and turns 'bad'.

His signature move would be the 'punch through the skull' ala 'Versus'. He would walk around making wise ass remarks to people when they asked him for help and then punch them through their skull, getting brains and blood on his arm. He could have some cheesy 80's action movie line like 'I guess I took his mind off his troubles', or 'let me ease your worried mind' or something each time he punched them.

If The Expendables ends up sucking buttnuts, will there be mass fanboy suicides all over the Internet? Please?

And these were natural picks for superhero flicks based on their careers to that point?

Sam Raimi
Bryan Singer
Christopher Nolan
Jon Favreau
Tim Burton
Ang Lee

Yeah I don't understand the love...he is a hack director and a bad actor.

Okay he was good in the original Rocky, but his action film performances are just stilted caricatures.

Point taken...but those listed are all far better directors than Stallone (Favreau being the weakest listed). I'm sure that had something to do with it.

True. It's also an irrelevant question, and doesn't explain why Stallone would be a good choice.

I'm not on the Stallone hype wagon, just pointing out that there have been far more bizarre choices in the past.

Re: Superman Returns Sequel is a GO!

We're just playing w/ the idea...

I mean...you never know..he knows how to shoot action. And you never know...somebody as much of the NOT IN THE LIST of directors to make a Supes film...he might be great for it. I dunno. He might also be bad for it. Sometimes somebody you don't think might be good for a film turns out they're good for it as it. It's happened.

He was also very good in First Blood, Rocky Balboa, CopLand and (the VERY underrated) Oscar. Don't shortchange the guy because he "sold out" for a lot of "phone them in" performances in the 80s. EVERYONE was doing that in the 80s (yes, even YOU, Tom Hanks).
