ok, the mobster guys may have been obscure, but Two Face?
not obscure at all. he was in the animated series, one of the 90s live action movies, Harvey Dent pre-two face was in the first Keaton batman. Speaking of which I'm really pissed that they cast Tommy Lee Jones instead of keeping some continuity and having Billy Dee Williams in that movie

If I played any of the themes you listed to people on the street, how many would guess the correct movie? If it's less than 50%, I'd say, then you can't really consider it to be iconic.
