. Also Lex is just boring at this point and has been done to death. Why would it hurt to go with a different villain?

I LOVED Routh as Clark/Supes, but face it folks, he was shit-canned. I think the chances of him returning are remote at best.
I'm not surprised at the Chuck/Levi hate, but he would make a great modern Clark. As for Supes, he can bulk up just like Routh did. I think people are too used to seeing him in a comedic role.

How about Joe Manganiello? Currently he's on True Blood as "Alcide". He's a little old, being 33, but he's 6'5" tall with a solid build, would easily look like Alex Ross's version of Superman. I just don't know if he's a good enough actor to handle the dual-roles of Clark/Superman well enough.

Rumors are Warners wants this guy to be Superman, but it might conflict with him being in The Avengers movie, since a certain director also wants him for a part.

Fillion would be an interesting choice, since he turns 40 in March, and I imagine anyone else that "old" would be dismissed as not viable for a long-term franchise. However, rumors are also that this is a one-shot deal for Warners. They're not looking to make a sequel or a reboot - just a stand-alone Superman film.

Forget the fact that Fillian is almost 40...the big "issue" is that he's Canadian. Wouldn't hiring a non-American to play Superman almost be akin to hiring an American to play, say, James Bond?

How many Americans can tell the difference between a Canadian and American? Not many. Unless there's that damn accent that's a stereotype among the Canadians. THEN we can tell.

Remember back in 2004, when the studios were heavily considering Ashton Kutcher for every single conceivable genre starring role?
I'm SO glad it's not 2004 anymore...

Ugh. Fillion looks like a rugby player. Are they trying to go all Casino Royale with this and play against type? That's fine for Bond, but some things should not be fucked with, and Superman is just about at the top of that list.

No. Nathan Fillion (and Paul Rudd) will be too busy playing all of us in DVDtalk: The Movie and DVDtalk II: Lo, the Rise of the Silver Groucho.

), my second pick is Matt Bomer.
