Amen! Great news and a day 1 purchase. It is amazing that this movie hasn’t been deleted or cancelled as it’s stuffed to the hilt with "offensive" material. .

AMC+ and BBC America have it in their rotation or library but it is a Warner Bros movie but not on HBO Max?

Blazing Saddles has been on Max (though I’m not sure it has since the rebrand).

Tora-san first film (1969) 4K UHD getting released in Japan by Shochiku with English subtitles (December 25). This really long film series previously had Japan Blu-ray releases with English subtitles. AnimEigo previously released the first four films on DVD in North America.

pretty sure it’s cycled through the various streaming services, like some other titles do from time to time.

White Christmas on 4k November 5th. I've wanted to see this movie for years so maybe I'll do a blind buy.

While I love the movies, it would have to be priced right but I'm afraid it won't be. I already have the blu for Airplane! and Top Secret.

Even the artwork is smoothed out for The Terminator.

The person or algorithm that designed it also doesn't seem to understand how reflections work.

The same thing bothered me with the LA Story blu.

Re: UHD release announcements

I am truly happy that some films are coming out on 4k like Orca, because it tells me that the format and desire for folks to still buy physical media is alive and well when titles like Orca make it to 4k, but my days of being able to afford to double dip have kind-of come and gone, so the Shout Blu I bought on sale a couple years back will suffice.

I may not buy the film, but I am still thrilled it is coming out in a top notch format.

I might buy White Christmas on 4K, as I no longer own the blu ray disc, but the film looked incredible on blu, and should be a real visual treat in 4K. I just checked, and yup...do not own it. I would be happy to keep White Christmas as part of my collection.

ETA: Preordered White Christmas on Amazon

Yep, I may not buy all these releases but the fact that they are coming out is a hugely positive thing. Physical media is critically important for anyone into the home video hobby. Streaming has a place but discs are the only way to truly preserve our favorite content.

I hear ya on double dipping. Aren’t many of us triple dipping at this stage? Like DVD to Blu-ray to 4 K? Yikes. My poor wallet. . As long as they keep producing 4K discs of content I enjoy. I’ll keep buying and doing my part.

Quintuple dipping at times. You can count me in on some going back to LD & VHS. Even Sextuple if you included HD-DVD.

And if you really have a problem...Septuple if you throw in CED. Calling Alan Smithee to the thread. Alan Smithee, please report to this thread.

Oh wow, I forgot about VHS and LD! You’re right. Best to just accept we have a problem and enjoy it. Screw it.

For a while I supported both HD formats as in HD DVD and Blu-ray. I had separate players for both, piles of discs from each format, etc. What an idiot…
