Re: UHD release announcements
What I'm seeing is that there was a German cut with like one scene changed.
The Director's Cut is worth a watch, and maybe, just maybe that's what the "US cut" is here... but I highly doubt it. If this were the DC, it'd be clearly advertised as such, I would think.

I've never even heard of Blackhat, and looking at the description it seems kinda fun (if not really similar to The Dark Knight Rises), I may look for this on streaming.

But if you really want to see it, It's on Netflix right now.

FX also aired a Directors Cut type version of the film. I actually like both versions, and if you put aside the eye-rolling bit where a character is able to go into a Federal Officer's android phone and simply turn of the tool they are using to track him, the rest of the film is actually pretty good. I will have to go back and read some of the critics reviews, but I think the film is entertaining enough.
I first saw it when it hit cable, as I did not watch in theaters. It has a couple of signature Michael Mann action set pieces, they do not hold a candle to the bank heist scene in Heat, but are still fun to watch and well done scenes.
ETA: I might pick up The Last Starfighter, a rather fun film with some early examples of computer generated special effects.

I'd rather get Armageddon on 4K over this. I re-watched both on HBO Max last Fall and Armageddon still holds up and was far more entertaining.

So your only option at Amazon is to buy the Superman 5 film collection steelbook for $129 and not the standard edition?

Here are all the bonus features for the Superman 5 movie 4K set. It's all legacy extras from previous releases. It's too bad the extended cut of the 1st movie didn't get the 4K treatment. Plus, it has the Dick Donner and Tom Mankiewicz commentary, who are far more interesting than Salkind and Spangler. It's also missing the multi-part making of documentary from 2001 that's hosted by Marc McClure. Definitely do not throw away your previous BD release.

I found the Blu set at a garage sale a little while back for $5 and haven't even watched any of it. I think it will hold me over until the 4D holodeck version comes out.

I got the Ultimate Collection on DVD back in my "collect everything cool-looking" mental state but never sat down to watch any of it.

Re: UHD release announcements
It might be hard for some to revisit those Superman movies now in 2023. While most of them are well made (1 to 3) for their times. They are very dated and don’t really hold up well now.

Oh, I should have clarified, I watched the DVDs here and there and the first two movies especially hold up very well. Reeves is just charm personified and I have a little crush on Margo Kidder.

They could always redo the Donner cut of Superman II and have Supes snap Zod's neck at the end.
