Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.
Mine just shipped from there today. Not showing it arriving until the 20th. No biggie. I have plenty of other movies to watch in the meantime.
Has there been a comprehensive list of the issues with this set yet and any response from Shout?

Best Buy are carrying the set in-store as of today for $129.99.
Put in an order this morning for in-store pick-up. Here's hoping I'm able to get a copy and if I do, that it isn't spider-wrapped to hell.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.
So, is there a list yet as to what the problems are that may cause a disc replacement program?
Which movies and what the problems are?
I should be getting the set today and want to check for the problems.

1. Part 3 3D After the intro & title, credits recede back and then pop out to roughly the TV depth space rather than pop out beyond properly. There is a small jump cut before it starts.
2. Missing wrist snap scene in Part 9 Uncut
3. Missing audio Jason X during sleeping bag smash

I’m not sure there’s a comprehensive list. There’s a problem with a scene in Jason Goes To Hell, but I think every set has that. People have been reporting that they got multiple copies of one movie and missing others.

* * *
It just arrived. The good news: no duplicate discs.
The bad news: Some minor scratches (read look like little hairs about the size of pinky fingernail) on New Beginning, Jason Lives, and Rated version of Jason Goes to Hell
Unsure if it will affect playback.

Depending on your area, Best Buy stores seem to be getting 1-3 copies of this set at their B&M stores.
Bought one for in-store pick-up from the store closest to me. When I checked it upon pick-up, it was pretty badly damaged and the bottom of the box was literally falling apart due to a tear that went all the way through the box.
I was very appreciative of the Associate who helped me, who offered to check to see if they had anymore to replace the one I had purchased, finding me one of the other two that were in better shape.
I honestly wasn't planning on getting this but visiting this thread often changed that, as well as seeing friends with copies they had ordered
So far no duplicate films from just looking at the case spines. Going to check all the discs now to see if I have any duplicate discs.

My order from Target is scheduled to arrive. Then I got an email from Deep Discount. Hmm. I thought I decided not to order it from there ... I guess I forgot. Oh well. That one is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I guess I'll keep whichever is in the best shape and return the other to Target in store. Now I don't feel so guilty splurging on the B2G1 sale.

Just checked my discs, no duplicates when it comes to artwork or discs
Looking forward to jumping into this set soon!

No duplicate discs or artwork in my set either. Are the people who are reporting duplicate movies saying it's obvious (duplicate art or discs), or do the discs look right, but the wrong movies are pressed on the discs?
Also, certainly not a deal-breaker, but with my 3D tv out-of-commission, I was disappointed that it did not also include the anaglyph 3D version of Part 3 as well. I know it looks crappy, but I like watching old 3D sometimes for nostalgia.
I think I was just confused by the statement that both 2D and 3D prints had new scans, and it included a new 3D print. That sounded like it included 3 copies of the film.

I saw this box in store tonight and it indeed does look quite nice. I'm glad I'm getting mine later after a replacement program for certain discs is announced.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.
Nice pick ups tomorrow. Ups to an Amazon pickup figure much better than my terrible postal service. If we get 4 of 6 days we count ourselves lucky and yes, sometimes packages on Sunday, but that’s beside the case. I have informed delivery so know what I should get everyday. I don’t. Maybe it’s cut backs from Trumps crony Dejoy or what, but yay!
It says Thursday but ups says tomorrow, so I’ll believe them

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.
The set came today and I went straight for the 3D disc. Fantastic! I guess I see what people are saying about the opening credits – that they extend to the screen but not out of it (never saw this one theatrically so can’t confirm how it should look) – but the resolve of the depth on those is a sign of what’s to come. Just deep, detailed landscapes, rooms and recesses throughout for the constant crane shots. Most of the pop-outs worked beautifully on my set-up: Harold’s wooden pole, the vagrant dangling the eyeball, the biker’s fist through the car window, the popcorn, the falling books, countless weapon handles, the speargun, etc. Rick’s eye pop-out looks solid, but it’s such a fast cut. And that infamous yo-yo – nice!! 😄 A few don’t register quite as well, like the snake jump near the beginning, but it’s minor stuff. None of it fixes the dull pacing of this film (I’m cool if that’s just me), however, until things pick up at the climax, but it makes it a lot more interesting to get through. So glad to finally have this after nearly 40 years.

I'd be the first one here complaining if Amazon had poorly packaged this set but it arrived today on my porch in a perfectly-sized shipping box. Pristine condition with all the correct discs.

Same here. Just had mine delivered. No dupes, all discs in perfect condition. One corner at the top has a slight blemish from the paper that covers it. Looks like when they put shrink wrap on it, they pulled the paper just a little. No complaints from me though, it's a nice looking set.

My set from Target arrived today in perfect condition. All of the movies are there and no duplicates. I don't think I'll have a chance to dip into it today, but I'm hoping to do some viewing tomorrow.
