I'll buy the first on 4K at the right price (hopefully ~$25). Second film is fun but don't need it in 4K. Well, technically I don't need the first in 4K either, but still will spring for it.

Yay, a post on Alligator, and another excuse for me to post. Dex, did you put up this post because reviews are starting to hit the internet? I have only seen 1 review I stumbled upon a few days back that was very positive, but it is just one review. I was hoping more would start to show up now that we are just a few days out from the release date. I have my copy from Amazon that I should get on Tuesday/Wed at the latest, and my parents also enjoy the film (they usually are not into this type of movie at all) so I had ordered a copy through Shout well before the bonus poster was sold out, so happy days ahead for me. I am usually so sluggish about watching blu ray/UHDs shortly after I receive them but for this film I will make an exception and watch asap.

ETA: Found another review, and this review even goes into details on the extras. It really does sound like we have a winner here. So happy, as I have noted in other threads, this was the title I kept mentioning anytime anyone asked about what is on your blu ray wish list. Now that I need to move onto to another title I would love to see on blu ray, I would be thrilled if Dragonslayer eventually made its way to blu ray/UHD. But this is the wrong thread to bring this up in, lol.

Haven't read any reviews, just saw it being talked about that Cranston did an interview. That feature is listed on Shout's website.

Can you still get the replacement discs for the F13 set from a few years back?

I got my review copy in the mail yesterday. It'll probably be mid-to-late next week before I have a chance to fully dig into everything and put my write-up together, but at least one more review is on the way!

Awesome, I found another review (still positive) but I definitely am looking forward to your review next week.

All 3 discs in the set are based on the same 4K scan (with the TV cut also using an interpositive for its unique footage). This is Alligator's first time on Blu-ray, so there isn't an older disc or older master they could've used instead.

This is actually a 3-disc set: one UHD, one BD of the theatrical cut, one BD of the TV cut. The extras are all on the disc with the theatrical cut, although some (the commentary for sure) are also on the UHD disc.

The site page still works.

I'd give it a try if you already own the faulty discs.

As promised...!

I've been waiting for this longtime UHF favorite to hit Blu-ray for many years now, and what Scream Factory has delivered here proves well worth the wait. I just posted my review, and I scored it with this site's highest possible recommendation.

As I was waiting for your review, and reading other very positive reviews of this film's UHD release, I started to say to myself, is it possible that this film could get the rarest of rarest reviews, and be marked DVD Talk Collector Series? Now of course, being a huge fan of the film I would put this thought into my head, but to read your review and see the highest rating bestowed upon this film, that just made my day, heck it made my week. Once I am off the clock tomorrow, I know how I will be spending most of my afternoon/evening hours enjoying this movie and I even plan to watch a lot of the extras given your high praise of them.

Isn't Femme Fatale a Warner Brothers title? Do they license to Shout? It just felt to me like the most obvious Weather Archive title ever.

Yes. They've been releasing some titles that were from Fine Line (which was a sub label of New Line, owned by WB) like Human Nature and State and Main. Scream Factory did some other New Line and WB titles, like Willard and Valentine recently. But they've done Warner films in the past.

I got my Sword And The Sorceror 4k today! Woot! I know what I'll be watching tonight, four days before the title hits the street. Not sure what to do with the poster, though. If I were 13 I'd put it up in my room, but those days are looong past.

I just want a good remaster and awesome audio track. Given shout factory’s recent track record on their releases I’m afraid it’ll be the same transfer I have of the movie from Vudu.

It says "NEW 4K Scan From The Original Negative" on the product page.

Awesome that's good to know for the transfer. Only extra listed is the trailer but that's fine. I just hope we get a good audio track to go along with the remaster and I'll be satisfied.

The preorder price for The Ghost and The Darkness is $22.99 on Amazon. That's not bad since it's four dollars more on the Shout Factory website.

Picked up the Alligator (1980) 4K at Best Buy earlier today.

Looking forward to watching it this weekend!
