re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I received my replacement disc for Brotherhood of the Wolf in the mail a few minutes ago. Disc appears identical with the exception of "R1" added at the end of the information along the edge of the disc.

Holy cow, Alligator!! Pre ordering now.

ETA: One of my Holy Grail titles, so excited. Ordered, hope it drops in price, but for this movie I am happy to pay out the nose. I never thought I would see the day.

I always felt this would be the type of film released by Shout, I am giddy with excitement. Thanks Shout!!

i ordered from Amazon in the hope it drops in price. You get the theatrical cut, tv cut, and a blu ray of the film is included. Sounds like a Robin Riker interview is an extra. Can you tell I am excited by my constant additions to my post, lol!

Alligator in 4K is amazing.

40 + bucks is a big yikes though.

Preorders on Amazon frequently start off at full MSRP. It’ll drop closer to release. It’s $32 at Bullmoose and $33 at DeepDiscount and all its sister sites.

It looks like Cursed is coming:

Good to see them start to get Dimension films. Would be awesome if they could somehow put together Craven’s original cut, but that seems unlikely.

(Please Note: The Unrated Cut is not the original Craven cut of the film featuring different actors in the roles. We tried.)
Oh well.

Ha, fun movies, but I don't know that I need to own them in 4K.

Already had them in 4k from VUDU. Wouldn't have bought it. Don't need pins.

The Happy Death Day films, eeek, $115...will have to take a pass as I do not collect pins. Not going to lie, it looks like a cool set, you get the films, posters, and limited edition pin set and if I had the spare cash I would probably go for it. But no way can I justify the purchase at this time.

ETA: Also, no post of mine in this thread would be complete without bringing a mention of Alligator into my post, lol, Amazon sent me a ship date so I am just counting down the days.

I liked the movies, but I don't like them enough to spend $115 for them. I already have the 1st one on BD and the 2nd on digital. I think I'm good.

That’s as crazy as the price for a paper replica of a Ghostbusters trap. At least GB is iconic. The Death movies are good genre flicks, but they’ll never be classics. Who the hell is gonna buy that when like most, we have in one form or another and nothing special except trinkets?

The something special is that it's a UHD, not a BD. I'm going to guess that would be the primary reason someone would pay for this.

$115 or whatever for 2 pretty good genre movies with no cult or status of any kind, 4K or BD, is not special and just a marketing gimmick to lure suckers like me into thinking this is hot shit.

I'm not saying the price is worth it. I'm saying the primary draw is that it's UHD, which you didn't even mention when you said there was nothing special about it.

well, UHD becoming norm, so didn't think that was a big deal or reason, remotely, for such a mark up. at least there are extras on GB set that are absolutely worth owning, even without chackis. plus, like 7 movies all together if you include 2 different cuts of GB1 and digital of both cuts for 2016. even without the cool ghost catcher replica, the set is really a must own for fans of films.

You can buy just the discs separately for $35 each.

So one nice thing of the Shout Factory set is, if you want all those bonus items, you can buy them, but if not, just buy the discs.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I misunderstood. It looks like both films are available separately for MSRP 34.99. In that case, screw that set. I thought that was the only way to get the movies on UHD. Although $60 for a couple of posters and a pin set really isn't that crazy if you're into that sort of thing. I wouldn't buy it, but I'm sure there are 500 people out there that would.

*Edit* Looks like you even get the posters with the singles while supplies last! So it's really $60 for the pin set. Yeah, no.
