Here is a pretty good article about Scream/Shout Factory's upcoming releases. It does say they have a negative to scan to remaster Silent Night Deadly Night so that's good news.

It sounds to me like they are looking at one or two options. Either moving toward 4K or releasing Paramount titles.

Maybe in 2018, they could get the rights to release Black Christmas(2006).

that really sucks and makes me rethink. who the fuck are those people. Garr maybe bc of her disease, but why no Keaton, maybe too busy, but he could have done a little something. and no Mull or Tambor? i really have to rethink...

what about transfer details and all that?

Yeah that's a shame about no Keaton participation in the extras though it's not surprising. Overall the extras sound a bit light. I'll still be getting it as it's a guilty pleasure movie for me but that's disappointing a bit.

Same, I watched it more times than I can recall in the '80s on cable. Like Schooner Tuna it's a movie with a heart.

Man, I'll watch Teen Wolf, but when the hell will I ever get a chance to watch a 2.5 hour doc?? So daunting, but I bet fascinating. I barely have the tolerance or attention span, at home, anymore to watch long movies. Even 2 hour movies seem daunting to me. Definitely got to get over that...

Those kinds of extras are the only ones I care about or watch anymore. I hardly ever watch movies with commentaries and tiny 20 minute retrospectives are usually lacking in substance and information.

Give me a feature length documentary on every movie any day.

For me it depends on the film and how interested I am. Some things a two hour documentary fascinates me but other things a shorter featurette is fine.

Its broken up into chapters so you don't have to watch it all at once. Its probably my most rewatched movie from Michael J. Fox. Its worth buying just for the documentary, and they debunk the whole urban legend about the dick shot at the end.

I find it interesting that they put all that effort into a feature length documentary (which don't get me wrong is great and highly commendable, even without Fox/Bateman participation) but they couldn't include the late director's commentary which he made himself and put up on the web for free years ago. I know I can go download it, but it seems odd that it couldn't just be on the disc. It's still online, but who knows how long?

In the final seconds of the movie there is an extra that stands up and their fly is unzipped, but it looks like a dick is blurred out. It was a joke on family guy, if you look at an open matte shot its actually a woman. They explain it in the documentary.

Oh, ok. Don't know when I'll get around to that opus. Wish there were other extras as well, but I guess u can't complain about a doc that is an hour longer than the actual movie lol...

yeah, but there are cheaper, easier ways (it's on cable all the time) to see than shell out any money for a weak edition...

I guess for me I want to own a copy of it and you know this will probably be the only release. Shout titles tend to not drop in price much either.

Whale Rider turned out okay. It's weird seeing Keisha Castle-Hughes now grown up from this on Game of Thrones.

Watched Day of the Dead over the weekend. The AV quality is nothing to write home about, but really enjoyed the movie and the included documentary is fantastic.

I wish they could have gotten more of the cast for it, especially Michael J. Fox. But it covers the whole process of making the movie, release, cultural impact, the usual stuff for a making of documentary. I wish it had some behind the scenes stuff included, its almost entirely all interviews of various people from the movie. I haven't watched the whole thing yet.
