I usually wait for the BN sale, but with Blow Out I can't wait, probably my most anticipated release of the year, placed my pre-order for $26 at Amazon. I'd also wished they would have got QT involved, he seems easy enough to track down and eager to talk about anything involving film.

Here's the "More!" on Blow Out:
So we get a full-length film as a supplementary feature, presumably also in HD. Very nice. That's several Criterion Blu-rays now with feature films as extras. Has anyone seen Murder a la Mod? De Palma's early works are at least interesting experiments, though I'm not familiar with this one.
- Interview with star John Travolta from a 1982 French television news broadcast
- Murder à la Mod, De Palma’s 1967 feature film
- Murder à la Mod, De Palma’s 1967 feature film

Apparently, Something Weird Video held the rights to Murder a la Mod at one point. There is a trailer of it on youtube if anybody is curious. Pretty cool extra even if it ends up being a turd.

Here's the trailer:

It's the film Dennis Franz's character is watching on television in Blow Out.

Awesome news on the Blow Out bonus film. Kinda surprised CC didn't give it a seperate release or release.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Maybe someone here could help me out. I remember a while back I thought I saw there was going to be a new Criterion release that seemed like some kind of exploitation film that was in black and white, had nazi imagery, and the main images I saw were of a woman-- maybe in a position of power-- who was maybe topless or maybe had some real skimmpy thing on up top and with nazi imagery.
I know that's a real stream of consciousness sentence up there, but that's really all I can remember from it. Am I hallucinating?

There have been no announcements for a Night Porter blu-ray. I can't imagine it is too high on their list to revisit, but I could be wrong.

I'm sure Sweet Smell of Success looks much better in motion but those comparison caps dont really seem to show to much extra detail or depth compared to the dvd.

Though they were able to remove those annoying lines on the right hand side during Curtis' telephone conversation. As for Senso, just based upon the caps I prefer the Studio Canal version.

yeah I agree that most the improvements in Sweet Smell will be lack of damage/artifacting related.
edit: forgot the old dvd was non-anamorphic, that's obviously a big plus for the blu.
