Virgin Suicides coming to Criterion. Go to the 9:20 mark.

And so is Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

And yet, the actor with nearly 200 credits and a role in December’s Oscar contender “The Shape of Water” may still be seen by audiences as a part of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”

“I was contacted by the Criterion Collection” and they had the scene among footage supplied by Hughes’ family for bonus features for a 2018 DVD release, he said.

Nice... by far Sophia's best film... and a title that I believe isn't already available on BD.

Don't care about Ferris, but Criterion seems to be rummaging through the Paramount catalog more - which is nice.
Maybe we'll see a release of "The Conversation"... which IMO is Daddy Coppola's best film.

The Conversation is owned by American Zoetrope, isn't it? I don't think Paramount has anything to do with it at this point. Besides, the current blu-ray is already great as is. Not sure what else Criterion could add.

Correct. The 2011 Blu-ray was released by Lionsgate.

Specs and extras are likely coming when Criterion makes their official announcement.

Criterion should start a new line inspired by their box set John Cassavetes 5 Films.

John Hughes Five Films
John Sayles Five Films
John Woo Five Films

only if his english name is John, like John Woo. Otherwise he doesn't meet the criteria.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

I really like the idea of the John Hughes and John Woo 5 films boxes. Especially since getting a larger box of Hughes films has probably always because his films were split between different rights owners. But now the key is, which five films?

The Breakfast Club
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Sixteen Candles
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Uncle Buck
